Is the original Moon swatch worth it?

Hello ,I am thinking of buying a moon swatch as a christmas gift for my self . I want to know how good is this ''omega'' in terms of quality and reliability

I love mine. It's a fun watch. The crystal is prone to scratches but easily fixed with polywatch. The band is stiff but becomes comfortable once worn in. You should also reverse the direction of the band so the keeper is on your wrist knuckle.

Did you have any problems with the pushers?

It's a plastic Swatch and best thought-of in that context, given that there are no genuine Omega elements to it.

No problems at all besides some scratches on the crystal. It's survived trips in the jungle so it's not as delicate as most people say.

I don't have one and personally I'm not interested. I see the draw but it's just not for me. I was however gifted a Pagani Design Mission to Mars for my birthday and I actually do enjoy it. It's stainless steel and uses a mechquartz.

Don’t buy online or sight unseen. Very poor quality control. I looked at 6 Mercury’s in the swatch store as the first 5 of them were either broken or the hands didn’t line up. The staff were quite frustrated with me as I wasn’t willing to accept one that wasn’t correct. “You know this is a swatch, right?!” Was their exact words. But I’m not going to buy something where the pushers don’t work, or the glass is already scratched fresh out of the box?!

After finding a good one, I’ve fitted it with a glass protector film (like what you put on your phone) and changed the strap to a rubber one.

Very light weight, but also a bit fragile. I wear it like I wear a vintage watch. Looks amazing, and if you look after it, I’m sure you’ll love it and get a lot of enjoyment out of it.

I have the Mission to Mars, and whilst I don't think it's particularly robust if you are considerate it should last. As many have said, it's a plastic watch and some care is needed. On the flip side, I love it for it's fun element and I'm glad I got it.

I like how it looks and how it feels on my wrist, it’s light and I could almost forget I’m even wearing it. I’ve had it for about 5 months, haven’t had any problems with it. What I don’t like about it is that it feels like a cheap toy, I don’t actually use it’s chronograph features, when adjusting the time the crown just doesn’t feel solid. The movement is very loud, which is why I can’t forget I’m wearing it.

My Timex Q watches cost a bit less, but they feel solid and their ticking isn’t obnoxiously loud like the Moon Swatch.

It's a Swatch, so it's not going to scratch an Omega itch.

I love mine, but I bought it to have a bit of colour and variety in my collection. I tend to wear mine mostly for days in the office, or days where I'm not doing anything too physical.

I recommend taking stories about pushers breaking, and other negatives with a grain of salt. People tend to overemphasize the negatives with a "controversial" watch like the MoonSwatch. It generates clicks, and gets people commenting, which plays the algorithm for even more engagement.

I wholeheartedly agree.

Intrinsically - no.

Smiles per £ - definitely.

If you have the chance, which I know is not easy in many parts of the world, try to handle the watch at a Swatch store before buying it. I was considering buying a Mission to the Moon until I got to handle the Mars one at a store. It just felt cheap and toy-ish on my hands, not worth it the asking price. The strap was beyond awful and you’ll see many MoonSwatches in NATOs and rubber straps here at the Crunch because of this.
