New Armitron Sport Digital

I was looking at the Armitron website when I ran across this bargain. $18 from Armitron is a great price, competitive with Casio. I also really like the strap on this one. It is much better than the resin straps on similar Casio or Timex models. The material is the same as the strap on my Seiko Arnie. Very comfortable.

This is me being petty, I'll admit; but I harbor a bias against Armitron since Walmart carries them now instead of Casio.

I see both Casio and Armitron at Walmart, online and in our local store. Surprised yours doesn't carry Casio. 🤔

Mine actually does. Just checked and in penance for being a curmudgeon that posted a flame on your post...

If anyone can explain how they get the dark part of the dial to illuminate, that would be great. It's probably something about polarizing film, but I don't get it at the moment. I do like it though.

See my separate brick and mortar Walmart stock threak.

I am not sure how they do the backlighting this way. My Timex Iron Man illuminates the same way.

That blue illumination is awesome.

That’s quite a bargain. Nice find!

I give it some props I might not be a big Armitron fan but if I had a choice vs a no name or a George watch. Armitron will be the winner!

This Armitron Sport Chrono has become my default daily beater, displacing all Timexes or Casios, even G Shocks. It is pretty durable and water resistant so far, handling daily bumps and splashes readily. The main reason it is my daily beater now is the strap; it is extremely soft and comfortable, much more than any Casio or Timex at this price. I still default to a G Shock if I am camping or something outdoors and dirty, but this Armitron is seeing a lot of wrist time. It has become my night/bed time watch as well.
