A Blast from My Past!

Finally managed to buy a copy of my first watch as a kid! Located this 1971 Timex Sprite on ebay and got it. This model was a Christmas gift from my parents, who told me to stop constantly asking them what time it is.🤣

Yes, I know it is on the smaller side, at 30-31mm, but I had to get it when I found it, and I like smaller watches.😉 I regularly wear vintage watches 34mm and smaller.

I'm a sucker for all things nostalgic and vintage too. As such, I've been eyeing this Timex Vietnam Camper TW2P88400.

Twas the first watch I bought after college, and sanctioned by my 1st boss because I constantly arrived late to meetings...hehe. I used to wear a Casio F-91W clone back then. He told me to get an analog watch instead which is more intuitive. This piece is currently $92 on our local e-commerce platform and will be shipped from Japan. I'm a bit hesitant because of its resin case, and fixed lugs (only a pass through strap will fit).

As an alternative, I recently saw this Timex Expedition Scout 36mm TW4B13900 at our local Timex AD, and is currently only $60. It's a brass case and lugs aren't fixed.

I'm torn... hehe.

Brilliant, great find. Very similar to my first watch. Got my little black timex about 77/78 so might not be exactly the same model (memory fades after 40 odd years) keep seeing them on ebay occasionally and keep wanting to have one,but small size puts me off. Really should get one for nostalgia (and an action man and maybe a yellow tonka bulldozer). Thanks for sharing👍

That's it I've just done it, now to look for an Eagle eyes action 👀 man now 😁
