What do you think about the new release from Mido ?

I think its a really cool watch, I would prefer it in a smaller size but the dial is perfect if you ask me

It's a very handsome watch but in my lifestyle it's relegated to special occasions. It's not something I could wear anywhere. If I wore a suit or semi formal for work maybe. I like the pointer date, calendar function and color. Just not my cup of tea.

I think that looks great and 42mm for an automatic chronograph with a moonphase complication doesn’t seem too bad to me. I don’t think Mido get the hype they deserve, as they do a lot of great watches.

I like it! Big JLC Master Control Chrono vibes. I’m a big Mido fan, but they do have a little bit of a size issue sometimes. This in 38-40mm would’ve been just perfect, but it probably would require a movement that would make it hard to hit the $3k price point.

All in all, another in a series of strong releases from MIDO.

If anyone wants this in a smaller size there’s the omega speedmaster triple calendar in blue dial. Looks like they share the same base caliber.

·

It's so dressy! Now, I have a soft spot for dressy watches. It'll spend most of it's time in my watchbox but damn she's a looker.

·

I think it looks stunning.42mm is the largest size I would wear. Just read it’s 50mm lug to lug that would make it a little to large for me.

·

As a brand Mido is so much under the radar that I'm sure they have a snorkel fitted to the roof of their offices.

It's a nice watch if you are interested in dress watches with complications, but TBH it looks a bit too large and too flat to suit my tastes.

·

Nice casual watch, but waaaay to big. 42mm of straight up dial, gotta have a huge wrists to pull this off)

FYI Longines does sell a watch that is extremely similar to this, in their Master Collection in 40mm, for slightly more money. The movement layout is actually almost identical, probably share a base ETA movement. If you're looking for something like this.

It seems they use the Valjoux 7751. That would be the third within the swatch group after Longines and Union Glashütte and the cheapest. That means I have to update my article about valjoux 7751 watches.

Buy checking the Specs and by manufacturing Quality I would say that the Limes Pharo Chronograph Vollkalender still beats it with allmost the same price.

But it still looks like a great watch and good value for money.

Dammit, i don't want to buy anymore watches this year! After Mido really tempted me with their Multifort big TV, now they bring out this little (well...) gem! I think it's really well executed - and on a proper strap. Mido on a roll here...Anyway, firmly placed in the 'take-a-look-at-it-in-2024' box for now.

I am interested in this brand . They make nice watches.

42mm is perfection, anything smaller would seem cluttered and illegible.

The size of the actual movement aside, below 42mm multi complication watches look too cluttered and illegible. Too much stuff in a small space.

·

Very gorgeous, and I can't complain about the size especially with that many complications. Still wish it was smaller, tho 😂

That’s a good point. Still, 50+mm lug to lug is pretty big. I’m also curious what the thickness is.

I guess with my 7 3/4 inch wrist that doesn't seem too large.
