I love the Ploprof. If I had enough money spare to fritter on one, I’d rock it on my skinny wrist everywhere. It’s meant to be completely daft, nobody bats an eye at a 45mm GShock 😂

I dig it too, but I don't think I can spend that kind of money on a watch that will never fit under any kind of sleeve, even jackets.
Thing that really kinda gripes me is, some of these manufacturers do some REALLY cool stuff, destro, monobloc, playing with lume shades (and it's ALWAYS better than expected, sometimes better than "real" brand, looking at you Hamilton), materials (bronze, TI, bronze and TI), etc.
Why don't they just make cool watches that aren't just homages?
I'd buy a fixed lug, Ti case, matte black, unidirectional countdown/12hr bezel, pilot hands, GMT dial watch in a heartbeat...
Instead it's always an homage.
And I have nothing against an homage/clone/whatever, so long as it isn't trying to be something it's not. Heck I own several.
But man, wanna talk about missed opportunities from an enthusiast perspective.
That's the rub though, as a collective whole, our opinions don't matter, as much as we clamor, bemoan, and dream. The actual larger buying public wants something that is a clone..😒

For those of us who will never afford multiple thousand dollar watches, we are thankful for homages.
Looks like one of the Seamaster 1000 variants. Close relative of the Ploprof, Google it 😉👍🏻
I do believe you are correct.
"A very advanced innovation using the new megaquartz 1510 base movement, however, the megaquartzes were not thermo-compensated and in a cold water environment, they could lose significant amounts of time. In addition battery life was also a problem."

Good find, thanks.
Didn't realise they were quartz!

Wow. This is such an interesting case shape. I wasn’t even aware that Omega made a watch like this until you posted this homage. I love so much about the watch itself, but I’m not a huge fan of the strap.

I never heard of it either I just did a reverse image search and saw what popped up! :)

Well whaddya know. Thanks Steeldive for bringing this odd beauty to our attention!
I love watches, I am also staggeringly poor. So I usually have to go for oddity or utility over horological mastery. Very little in my collection could qualify as a "flex" I tend to wibble on about my...

It looks like a Omega Ploprof homage

They do a real Ploprof homage, both classic and reissue. so I don't think its that.
Didn't Crepas release something similar called the Megamatic? Although I am not sure what that was modelled on
The Millennium Falcon!
It's quite horrible what ever it is

Excellent, thought it looked like it.
😎 Cool watch mate 👍🏻👍🏻
Monobloc case too.
Looked at this one on and off.

Totally agree.
I also just sometimes want something different. And the capability is there.
