Rolex Day-Date Oysterquartz

Found this beauty in excellent condition. Seriously considering trading in my Milgauss for this one. Usually the bands are in bad condition from the 80s. This is near mint excellent. Would you guys trade in a modern steel watch for a vintage gold watch ????

Absolutely, if you appreciate the unique charm of vintage timepieces, trading your modern stainless steel Rolex for a vintage gold Oysterquartz can be a great choice. The Oysterquartz models hold a special place in Rolex's history, and finding one in such good condition is indeed a rare opportunity. Plus, the allure of gold watches has a timeless appeal that complements any collection. And hopefully you’ll get Goldgious Fever with the rest of us lot. @WabiSabiMaster @DH_NYC @BadgeHoarder

Oh my God, this is too good 😂😂😂 I suffer from ALL of these symptoms. Been afflicted for some time now. I’m not even seeking treatment right now. If this disease takes me out, I’ll go smiling 😎

·

I'm the opposite I'd definitely keep the milgauss, I just prefer tool watches

·

Definitely! That OQ is a piece of Rolex history.

·

Go for it for sure.

I’m glad you enjoyed the post. I had quite a fun time writing that one up!

Trade the fuck out of it

·

The only hesitation I would have is in terms of servicing. I've heard rumors of OysterQuartz being difficult to service, but I've never had the opportunity to buy one so I haven't done any research to confirm that.

·

Aesthetically yes, I’d go for the oysterquartz over the milgauss in a heartbeat. My concern is the long term viability of the movement. I haven’t done my research but if I was in your shoes I definitely would. Good luck!

·

100% I would trade a Milgauss for this in a heartbeat. Solid gold day-date vs. Milgauss is not a contest.

·

Movement aside, in my opinion it depends. Black Milgauss I’d trade toward this in a heartbeat. Z-Blue, no way.

Best case scenario — own both!

Yeah I have Goldgious fever this year. I got a yellow gold watch, and now I’m ordering a white gold watch. O boy

·

This Daydate is sick!!!

Milgause is also excellent!

It would be a hard decision.

·

it looks soo good with your skin tone.

·

I wouldn't swap a Milgauss for a DayDate regardless.

·

That’s a tough one. Both awesome unique pieces, and probably the majority of crunchers would disagree with me but I think the Oysterquartz has got the edge. I’m also a sucker for the Spanish Day wheel. Though I would second what @tempus said about servicing.

·

If I were in a gold mood, definitely!

·

I love pretty much all the Oysterquartz references. Charming watches.

·

Recently added one to the collection. It's an amazing watch with the perfect amount of presence.

Tough choice, a Milgauss is so different than a gold day date.

I would keep the Milgauss and sold something else if it's possible.
