oh FFS. I didn't say all Chinese watches. I'm well aware that there are good and reputable Chinese watch companies.
Chinese mushroom brands are those "brands" that POP up (like a mushroom) with very familiar looking designs and often, as uhrensohn notes, misusing words, names, etc.
for me, "Grail" used to mean something ridiculously expensive that I'd never own unless I won the lottery.
nowadays, I don't use the term at all. Not only does it mean something different for everyone (thereby losing the benefit of having a 'shorthand' term for something) but I don't have any particular single watch that I've been 'questing' for.
#carstudio is a thing--diffused light, places to rest the watch.. plenty of opportunity if waiting/stuck somewhere.
BUT let's be honest, nothing about that requires the steering wheel/logo in there :P
Agreed. there are lots of brands with DJ vibes.
replica watches are technically illegal (and trademark infringement).
it also makes actually buying a genuine rolex all that much harder if those replica producers continue to thrive. Imagine being able to conduct a private sale with no worries about fakes.. but because they exist, we put our faith (and a premium) in pre-owned vendors (DavidSW, Crown & Caliber, etc).
yeah, Ive seen that watch posted and discussed on some podcasts. It's not for me. I think it's the combination of colors and hand shape.. It just reminds of some playskool / fischer-price toy clocks.
