Hello dear enthusiasts, I have a question towards all of you. I do not have a diver watch however I’m planning to buy one soon, my two options are from these two Japanese brands.
Those are two very different aesthetic dive watches. I'd have to know way more about you and the circumstances you would be wearing the watch in the give any advice. Otherwise I'd say say pick the one you like best.
I have the Seiko tuna in black … but it matters about preferences really both are fine watches but I find the Orient more versatile and I see more for me to be a daily wear compared to the tuna … but that’s me
I have the STBR025 which is a very similar tuna-style Seiko diver
I am a huge fan of seiko's prospex line and would choose them over orient every single time
I don't love the specific gray street tuna that you linked, hence why I own the STBR025 but I would push you to explore all of the options in Seiko tuna because they look awesome and have their own unique diving pedigree, rather than the orient that looks generic
Tough call! I guess go with your wardrobe? If you’re rocking outdoorsy clothes or swim regularly, get the Seiko. Otherwise, I think the orient will suit daily life better.
The Orient hands down! More class and a classic design. In terms of matching it with outfits you'll find the Orient will be more versatile. Additional, Orient has their in-house movement which I prefer over that Seiko movement.
Plus I'm a little bias...I'm a stainless steel case and bracelet guy. That Orient is a good looking watch. Good luck with your decision 🤙🏽

Also excellent points, especially if you look at the JDM catalog.
There's even steel bezel variants, similar in aesthetic to the pictured Orient.

Exactly I was thinking about versetality, thanks for pointing that out !
These are both so different. I have a Seiko and love it, but Orient would be a cooler microbrand. Which do you feel more passionate about?
Rn I am heading slightly towards the Orient, however I need to try it on to see how it feels and looks, I’ve only tried the Seiko one, and when I had it on the wrist I fell in love with it as well

I used to have that Seiko. I liked it, the style of it.
I’ve tried it once and for quite a big diameter felt and looked fairly comfortable. You had it for long time ?

I'm not a fan of gray accessories and the Orient is just more classic anyway.

It was comfortable. I started wearing an Apple Watch daily and stopped wearing analog watches. I'm not sure where it is but I still have it.

Either of them are good. I have both brands and they are very well finished and hold up well.

Between these two the Orient gets my vote, I love the steel bezel and white dial

The newer, solar tunas, and tunas in general, wear waaaay better than the specs on paper would appear to.
Short stubby lugs paired with a shoruded round case, and offset crown = great wearing experience.
I have a 6.5", and my Lowercase Fieldmaster wears so good I forget it's there.
