Who are your Top 10 Watch brands?

Since CB has the Micro Tournament going strong and everybody is thinking about their favorite microbrands, I thought I would ask the question...

Who are your Top 10 Watch brands?

It can be vintage, modern, major, independent, micro...no limitations.

Just try and pick 10 brands, if possible, then we can see if the preponderance of the Top 3 is Seiko/Grand Seiko, Citizen, Hamilton, Casio/G-Shock, or some others.

Here are my Top 10 with my favorite from each brand to illustrate (I used others in the header to the post)...

  1. Vacheron Constantin

    Image
  2. Minerva

    Image
  3. LU Chopard

    Image
  4. JLC

  5. Blancpain

  6. Parmigiani

    Image
  7. Glashutte Original

    Image
  8. Zenith

    Image
  9. Heuer

    Image
  10. Omega

Some honorable mentions...these are brands that I have a lot of watches from...but they don't quite make the Top 10...

Thanks - my wrist in 7.5 inches so it holds the Ultra Chron really well. But it is a 43mm watch so definitely worth checking out first.

Top 10 I own, and in no order, since wear these brands more than anything else in the inventory. And thus far, my favorite from each brand. Albeit on some there's only one, maybe two choices 😂.

1. Lorier

Image

2. Elliot Brown (this model in particular wins on unique complication AND very interesting color due to history, the Beachmaster in NIVO)

3. Wolbrook/Douglas

4. Nodus

6. Orient

I'll put up a "dream" team after I get sleep lol.

1 OMEGA

2 SEIKO PROSPEX

I'd be happy with both these companies only tbh.

What’s the reference number/name of the Mont Blanc monopusher with the 24hr display?

My google search is only able to find info about the movement.🤔

Love your list! I was so tempted to add Franck Muller to mine but I just have the three watch set that Wei Koh did with FM. So thought it was a bit of a reach to put them in my Top 10 since I didn't have more in the collection...great watchmaker that is so underrated. So many other great brands on your list as well. Thanks for sharing.

Wow ! I remember that collaboration with the round chronos. Incredible, you are the king 👑

Rolex, Tudor, Omega, Cartier, Seiko, Patek, Lange, Oris, Piaget, Christopher Ward

In no particular order

Great choices and thanks for adding in Piaget. They don't get much love in this forum but they have produced some really cool watches.

I have been so tempted by the new Piaget Polo '79...but that pricing...ouch!

I am also a fan of the great stone dials that both Piaget and Rolex used in their dress watches. Just a wee bit too small for my wrist.

Excellent list of brands!

Thanks Greg! But I think that title goes to @JaeBust

I'm just his Court Jester 😉

Thanks, Mel! On the Oris is it the vintage or a current chronograph?

It's the modern reference you called my attention to Rich...I found a great deal on eBay of all places. Watch is in almost brand new condition with full set.

Just came in at the end of the week. I need to adjust the bracelet and then do two days...one WRUW with the bracelet and then with the super cool strap (it will live on the strap going forward).

This is the reference...

Thanks Mel really like your choices to. I’m also a chronograph fan and I love that red Tag and the Breitling.

Thanks Matt I know you like chronos...you gave me the heads up on that cool blue dial Le Jour chronograph. I snapped one up after seeing yours.

Perfect for F1 season...

Wow! Such a cool list of great watches!

Congrats...that left-handed Douglas is so cool! Love the Helm...such a great brand. Super cool Orient with the arabic dial...really nice!

Thanks for sharing such a cool cohesive collection!

NGL, actually put some thought into the top ten after reading yours 😂.

In the pictures you showed can see a consistent theme as well.

Plus lets not kid, should I ever find myself pondering what a certain size wears like on any of the non-Rolex swiss brands, prolly gonna be shooting you a DM. 👀🤏🏻👌🏻🔥

Great selection of brands - interested to see HMT in there.

My coworkers turned me on to HMT. They are a low cost fun watches to have.

That's awesome...I just happened to purchase six of them this last week and they arrived yesterday. Haven't had a chance to play with them yet, but they look incredible for US$12/each...(these are the stock photos...WRUW to come later in April when I have a chance to do a week of HMT wrist shots)...

And I didn’t even have room for Longines here either! I love their catalog.
