So today I'm still wearing the SPB147 because I woke up late to work and didn't have time to decide on the WOTD. However, at the office I had to get a pen to sign some documents, which is becoming rare in this age of digital signatures, and then I discovered that my favorite fountain pen ran dry.
Filling fountain pens is a ritual by itself, first I have to take off my watch, then get some latex or vinyl gloves, wiping towels and find which other pens needs a refill.
Which is when I also realized that I have a collection problem. No, I'm not referring to fountain pens, I do collect and use them, and it's not a problem for someone who learned to write with a nib pen and an ink well. I'm talking about leather pouches and rolls. I didn't realize I had so many pen cases, rolls or pouches made of leather until I saw them spread on my desk. I actually have more pen's leather accessories than pens. There's no way I can escape the conclusion that I also collect pen cases.
So...what else are you collecting beside watches? Is it fountain pens, LP records, books, scale models, HiFi audio equipment, women, and when did you realize that you were in fact a collector of these items?
I'm a big fan of watches that are interesting because they are either unique, have interesting features, well designed or simply offer a great value for their price.
A few star wars collectible lol
I have about a dozen low end fountain pens where, as with watches, I realized I'd reached a point of diminishing returns. There are also five typewriters taking up space where I live. I generally avoid acquisition disorders though.
Yes! Many things. Among my favorite are the work of Italian product designers from the 50's, 60's and 70's
Sorry for the horrible photo.

That's incredible! I'm myself a great fan of industrial design and some of the best designs were from the 60's and 70's when plastic became more common to use.
Don't you need a farm for this? I mean that sure it sounds cool but where do you store this collection?

Fountain pens accumulated not because I decided to collect them but because I use them and since they are basically indestructible they slowly grew in number with the passing years. I do have a Montblanc (which I don't use), several LAMY, the old Parker from high school, which means it's at least 40 years old, and the brass Kaweco which is my favorite. I had and lost several Sheaffer, Ballograf and Waterman but I'm pretty sure I still have a vintage Pilot somewhere.

Haha, it’s not so much of tractors & heavy machinery, (though my father does own a pair of Farmall tractors) but more in the way of anvils, drills, saws, vices & such. He converted his shed into a small blacksmith shop & stores most of his collection in there.

That's awesome!
Im trying to collect cigars but no matter how many i get they tend to go up in smoke 😀
I collect an odd variety of things....
Books, antique typewriters, swords (replicas), knives, magnum airguns (break-barrel springers), vintage computers (like the C=Amiga 500, for instance), fine ink pens, mantle clocks, and vinyl LPs.
