Tudor 1926 after a month … still in love!

I did originally post it on Reddit, but I think that I can also share my feelings here.

December last year I had an epiphany and told myself „no more cheap watches”. After a really long but happy conversation with my wife we bought considered that if this is truly my hobby so let’s make it to the next level. Before that I had several nice watches including Hamilton, Certina, Citizen … even two Junghans (terrible experience with watches and the AD) but I sold all of them to buy something extraordinary and for lifetime.

Here comes Tudor 1926!

After having this watch on a wrist the whole month on a daily basis I am still in the love phase. I can’t say or write anything bad about it. Even the lack of lume or no microadjust on the bracelet can’t hurt the feeling that it was the best idea I had in a while.

This 36mm of pure class, sportiness and dressy gold makes me happy every time I need to check well … the time. It’s like looking at a well proportioned piece of art. It may lack some of finnes or usability of a more practical lumed watches or divers, but there is nothing that can make you feel more special than a Tudor on wrist.

People may say it’s just a poor man’s Rolex, but for me this thing is special. It’s a commemoration of my life in some ways. It shows to me what I have achieved in last year and that it is only the beginning!

It’s a classy looking watch. Nearly picked one up myself. Glad to hear you like it!

·

Nice watch buddy, very nice.

·

I am actually on the fence to purchase a Tudor 1926 with the blue hands in 39mm. But I worry it is too dressy. I don’t own a suite and worry it won’t work for me

·

Very nice watch there bruh

·

The white and gilt are underrated in my opinion. I’m actually torn between this and an omega de ville with the same color combo.

·

The gold numerals on that opaline dial looks amazing. Gorgeous piece!

·

So classy and beautiful. The 1926 is on my dream list too. Glad you are enjoying it. Congrats! 👏

·

Class 🔥

·

That's a good lookin watch! Very different offering for Tudor too

·

I have the 41 mm opaline dial!! absolutely love it

100%. Love the feeling of reward for achieving something. Watches are a personal thing. What inspires for me might not inspire you or the next person and I’m ok with that. I’m not trying to impress others. I’m trying to impress myself😂.

I actually like the Tudor 1926 and would get it myself if money was not an issue. It's a beautiful watch. Congratulations for getting it. That said, nothing wrong with "cheap watches", specially the likes of Hamilton and Junghans you mentioned. They are not cheap for a lot of people. And it's not that I feel hurt for having both brands, it's just reality. Hamiltons are nice and not everyone can get one without thinking twice. Congratulations once again. It's a beautiful watch!

I've always said this: If you wanted a Rolex and got a Tudor, yes it is a "poor man's Rolex". But if you just wanted a Tudor, then it is NOT. My brother you got one of the best watches in the market. Plus, I would never consider poor someone who spends more than 1000 dlls on a watch.

·

Looks great! I love those numerals

·

I've been looking at one with the blue numbers and hands. good stuff.

·

I love mine too…so much so I bought my wife the matching ladies version. It’s our date night set😋

I loved my Murph, but the story behind the hate that I have to Junghans is so unbelievable that I might post it here. Long story short that - because of the AD of Junghans in Poland i needed to go to a psychiatrist because i was assaulted and stalked by the co-owner of the company…

That is very unfortunate, it is reprehensible of that person and I hope you've since been able to recover from that. That said, one thing is that completely unacceptable behavior, another is a watch or watch brand that just happens to be one represented by a deplorable human being.

I have the white on blue in 39mm. I love it as well, it's such a great looking watch and what I love the most about it is its thinness and how it wears. I'm wearing mine today as well.

I rarely dress up much as well. I usually wear jeans, a tee or polo and a plethora of sneakers and the 1926 pairs up well. It is a "dressier" watch but i think it's much easier to dress down a watch than to dress it up. I'd say go check it out and try it on

The problem with the brand for me is the fact that every single time I would need a service I would need to contact THIS person.

I might end up doing that with my girlfriend. However, she's not really into watches and the ones she does like are square watches. She already takes my Longines Tank every time we dress up and says she wants a gold Cartier Tank so I might just have to buy two Cartiers 😂

There’s a timeless elegance to that watch. With all the new models being constantly released it’s interesting to me that styles from the 50/60/70 keep appearing & apealing to people of all ages. It just seems to de everything right the Tudor.

wtf, why did the owner do that?

Because I asked about my long waiting time for a warranty (60 days) on Facebook in a comment. I did not do any harm, or use any unprofessional words. I even consulted my lawyer about it, and after that all hell broke loose.

I just wrote that “I am waiting for very long time for a warranty repair” and that’s it 🤦

For me as a person born in the 90s this watch with its all quirkynes and vintage look is like a time travel back to the golden days of the 20s. The age when my family owned the biggest alcohol company in Poland, when my great grandfather as a doctor had a policy when he was working one day a week for free to help poor people, and when all of the stories that I heard from my family were from.

Always liked this watch, looks like a great choice to me, glad you’re enjoying it so much 👍

·

It's very good looking!

I didn't like it in the display but think it looks really good on you

I said this a few days ago but since then can't stop looking at this watch. It's bewitching and I'm very close to picking up a 36mm for myself
