Going to the field? You got options.

I love field watches and find myself pulled toward them. I take them to work, the field, surfing, and skiing. Should I add the Alpinist GMT?

The 1971 Hamilton issued pilot's watch GG-W-113. I got it as a birth year watch. On the original strap which has the tropic fade. Auction watch found in the bottom of a footlocker.

I also lean towards field watches, I find them more versatile. Great selection!

Wow! Amazing set. What’s your take on the Vertex?

PS: Yes, add the Alpinist!

The Vertex is superb. All the looks of a dirty dozen watch with lume that glows for days and water resistant to go anywhere. I've got a small (6.25in) wrist and it is a solid fit. A little pricey but comes with three straps and durable investment. I don't think it is particularly well regulated though so it requires a good setting at the start of the day. If you wanted a purist field watch, go for it. My Alpinist moves between dress and field depending on the strap compared to the Vertex which looks like a tank no matter what.

Thanks. I’m on the fence because of cost but am thinking what’s not to like about the Vertex.

The alpinist is a good bet I’d like to recommend another couple of field watches for consideration: the Ollech & Wajs OW P-101

Image

A fantastic field watch from a Swiss brand that specialises in millitary style watches.

Echo Neutra Averau 39 Moonphase

Image

A beautiful field watch with a moonphase complication. It’s not a gmt but it looks great and the pointless but nice looking complication may not be a gmt but it is fun.

Both retail for around the same price as the alpinist.

Glad I could help 😀.

You should add a couple different Bertucci field watches in that nice collection of yours.

·

Hamilton Khaki King is, well, King.

Or, for something entirely different...

Also available in black, blue, white, and green (I think).

#vertex#hamilton#seiko alpinist ❤

Might as well since you have the major league collection.
