I am spending a lot of time looking at potential new watches. I am really itching for something new after not adding any watches to the collection last year. Curious to hear what others are hoping to add to the collection in 2024?
I have been looking at that exact watch a bit too. Love the clean look to it.
I was able to try on the black dial on leather and it felt and fit great. I noticed the second hand on the black dial gets lost. The grey dial just has a little more class. I think at least.
I've already got a Spinnaker and a Spaghetti Scameti incoming and we're not even out of January yet, haha who knows where this year will take me? A Willard, a Chris Ward, a Zodiac, an Oris, who knows!?
I'm in the same boat. I'm over a year since my last watch, but I have a ton of stuff that I have to do to my house, stuff that costs real money. So, while I have the money for the object of my affection (a Breitling Chronomat), I have to stay patient. I don't think I can get it until later this year or maybe 2025.
What I can't do, is impulse buy something like the Lorier Hydra III and say "it's only $599, what harm could that do?" Because if I do that with that watch and other less expensive things, I'll piss away all the money I have saved for the Breitling.
Is mexican pesos, in USD are 2700 and sone times you can get it in 2200 but yes is a little xpensive thats why only if a sell 2 or 3 watches i will buy it
I‘d like to add at least two: GS SBGX343 and. CWC 1983 RN Diver Reissue. I’m also waiting for my vintage Omega Constellation to get refurbished and that will count as a new watch as it hasn’t been worn on a wrist for a good 30 years, if not longer.
I have a side category of a rotating “fun” watch in my collection that helps me scratch my itch along the way of finalizing my core collection. I limit it to under a couple hundred dollars and something I can either sell easily or gift to spark an interest in watches in someone else. That way I don’t have to veer from what I plan on saving for, and it also helps not to constantly be looking for new pieces that I didn’t even know I wanted :)
Hoping to add a Explorer II 226570-0001 in 2024. I have been patiently waiting for over two years. Also on my 2024 radar maybe a vintage Cartier.
You aren’t alone. Also been waiting for over 2 years for a polar. Would love to have one, but I’m not far from just moving on. Lots of other watches in the sea 👍
I have the white dial 104 and would recommend it. Sinn OEM straps are not expensive and I have several which compliment the watch perfectly and dress it up or down. Highly recommended.
What an I looking to add this year? I’m going for a black dial diver. I was close to getting a 40mm Christopher Ward C60 Trident pro300. However I recently read in their loupe magazine that they are introducing a new model this year so have decided to hang on. I have feeling it will be a titanium version with COSC movement which I will buy if that is the case.
I was dead set on picking up a Zenith El Primero Chronomaster Sport this year until I tried one on against a Speedmaster ‘57. I’m absolutely smitten.
I’m also keeping an eye out for something solid gold and vintage-y in the dress watch field. A Constellation or similar. And maybe a Railmaster if one pops up at an amazing price and I have funds.

Yes I love my 104. Have had it for a few years and won’t be getting rid of it. Sinn makes great straps! Need to work in there bracelet clasps though.
Me too - one of the better divers on the market bar none imo. I'm hanging back to see what else gets released this year but I doubt anything will surpass the UC.

Wow but what an addition. That Sinn is beautiful!
Hopefully this one
I have been looking at Oris for a few years now. Hopefully this is my year to finally add this...

Very cool!
This one for 2024 - just to have my work contract extended / confirmed for next year……
No watch for the whole year? You deserve one
This would be most fitting for the 25th (silver) wedding anniversary coming up this year:
Citizen NB1060-12L

Hopefully a Lorier Falcon SIII

I am also wanting to add a chronograph to my little collection. This is a nice one! Do you know which reference is it?

In 2024 I’m hoping for a heavy hitter🫠
I'm going to pick this up next week:
And will add a Longines Ultra Chron later in the year.
Buying two this year - that's it, selling ~ ten, buying two.

Might get this sometime in the coming year. Haven’t been able to see one in person yet, which is a must for me.
Planning to bring this one home after I complete my second summer of grad school.

Agreed their clasps are not their strong point!!
