Honestly I think it depends on the strap. I love the watch but wish I’d bought it on the rubber. I don’t really like wearing it on the leather but it looks a treat with a nato - especially colour matched like the one in the photo.
Thanks. That's a sentimental piece as it belonged to my grandad. It's a cheap, mass produced Soviet watch from the 70s. The brand was popular and very available in the UK and this was given to my grandad for long service at his local Working Men's Club.
It's the only thing I took from his belongings when he died in the late 90s.
Thanks. Yeah, I'm getting more and more drawn to a Seamaster. Either a vintage dressy one (Seamaster 600 or similar), the late '90s one from the Brosnan Bond era, or one of the recent SMPs.
I’ve had a couple of ribbed straps from them and honestly I like them a lot more than I thought I would. They’re stiffer and thicker but in a really good way for me. In my Bremont S302 I tried a seatbelt NATO and it made the watch feel unstable almost. The more rigid and bulky ribbed strap made all the difference.
The blue herringbone one is really lovely. Very soft and almost silky. It’s a single-pass too which I don’t normally like but it works well with the Speedy57 as that watch tends to feel a little more ‘delicate’ on my wrist.
