Delayed Gratification….. So bittersweet.

I’ve had it. It’s time to regain self control. I’m in charge of this addiction. It’s not in charge of me.

With that being said, I will postpone any purchases of watches until I can pay cash, in full, for one of the following watches.

Seeing has how they’re the same price and both of them cost 2.5 mortgage payments that will give me time to ponder my decision.

What are your thoughts?

Option 1: Oris ProPilotX Salmon Dial

Option 2: Tudor Black Bay GMT White Dial

I really like what Oris has been doing recently but in this case, I’d go with the Tudor. GMT and Pepsi will never go out of style.

And you’re spot on with being prudent with your money. Never go into debt for a luxury good.

Checked your collection. I think the tudor adds nicely to your wrist gang. Nice to rethink this one since it is a luxury purchase. Tudor for the win 💯

Maybe I should just save for both 😂

Tudor: 2

Oris: 0

I like the Oris. Oris is working hard to make fantastic watches. Doesn’t the ProPilot have a the caliber 400 with a 5 day power reserve. It’s titanium, the bracelet looks fantastic and it has a cool looking salmon colored dial. I’m not a fan you the salmon color. But that’s ok, I’m boring. That’s a whole lot of cool.

What I like most about Oris is that looks original. When you see it you know it’s an Oris. That to me is special.

The BB GMT is a great watch I like the GMT complication. It doesn’t speak to me. I feel it’s on everyone’s list or wrist and it’s not a very original.

If I’m saving up for something special. I want it to special.

Props for buying responsibly. It’s guarantees that your hobby will stay fun.

Good luck on YOUR choice. cheers!

I agree with you. Everyone has a GMT. Which is great! I think they should. The Oris is very original like you said. Which I enjoy a LOT. The design of the case and bracelet is eye catching. Coupled with the salmon dial and textured bezel it’s BEAUTIFUL.

The Tudor though is a classic. The Pepsi bezel and white dial is an iconic combo. So with that it’s prestige alone is enough to pull me in that direction. It’s no Rolex Pepsi but nonetheless, it’s a beautiful and prestigious design.

Sounds like you have a hard decision. Keep me posted please. I’d like to know to outcome. 😉👍

There's no bad choice. But for me, it's the Tudor.

·

I’m a big fan of what Oris has been up to. The Tudor GMT is the safer bet but the Oris is a lot more fun and much more unique. If you have a couple of staples to your collection I’d go Oris.

·

The salmon Oris is distinctive.

·

The Tudor GMT is a gorgeous watch. That would be my personal choice. The Lorier Hyperion Skyward is a also an option. It's more affordable option and also carries that Americana, gold age of aviation style

·

Hmmm, let me think...

Hot dayum that looks even better on wrist!! 😍

·

Tudor GMT. You might even get a deal on the black dial if you go secondary market

Thought about Grand Seiko?

·

To make a parallel with your thought process, I too do not believe in paying in installments; I only buy what I can afford or what I have saved up sufficiently for.

In that regard, I waited almost two years for the price for the black-dialed BB GMT Pepsi to be right, and for a near mint example to float on the market via my preferred reseller / retailer.

So, obviously, I vote the Opaline dial GMT.

·

Sounds like you don't live in Southern California! If I bought a house, I probably won't be able to even pay 1 mortgage payment with one of those watches haha

·

BTW... Oris date wheel is not color matched :( one more reason for the Oris Kermit

·

I like the Oris better. As others have said, it’s unique. Plus, titanium is awesome. But… Have you tried them both on? Maybe once you’ve had them both on your wrist, you’ll know which one YOU like better. That matters a lot more than my or anyone else’s opinion. Congratulations in advance. 🥳

·

You can do it, keep saving. I would go for the Tudor for sure.

·

Tudor of course.

·

Oris. All day, everyday.

·

How either one fits into your collection overall should be a consideration though perhaps not the deciding factor. For how I'm currently rolling the Oris would be the easy choice.

Tudor: 2

Oris: 0

The early votes never get the worm.

·

Try them on & see how it feels 1st

·

The Tudor is something that can go under the radar yet be an enthusiast piece, the Oris seems like a conversation starter with that gorgeous dial color

·

Well Braenden this is an easy one for me but it’s going to be bias. I’m haven’t been a GMT type of person because I’m not big on travel at all so the Oris wins this round by defualt. The 2 door is a nice model but I would be more interested in a BB.
