Watch Vibrations?

This morning I went to wind up my Vero Open Water series watch and with the turn of the crown the watch vibrated vigorously. The watch is ticking and is keeping great time but did I do something wrong and should I send it to Vero to check out?

some times lack of barrel grease causes the spring to bind and then let go.

Could be helicopter rotor- where the auto winding mechanism malfunctions and spins the rotor when you wind the crown. From my understanding this can happen from time to time and not be a major issue as far as timekeeping is concerned.

One of my watches did that when it got really heavily magnetized

Interesting. I’m trying to think if there is anywhere it’s been in direct contact with magnetic fields recently that’s not just my iPhone. I’m probably going to send it in to get looked at.

Demagnetization you can try yourself with a cheap device.

iPhone is more than enough capable of magnetizing your watch. Not in regular use but if you’ve laid your watch on the phone at any moment - then yes.

Any local watch repair shop can also try demagnetizing for no money (as in not at all or very little) to see if it helps.

I think is the issue with my Squale that just did this EXACT thing earlier this week. I didn’t know it had a name other than “not good”. Mines going in for service.

It is helicopter rotor. One of the bad things about the 2824 architecture... It will happen to every single 2824, just a matter of when. It is an easy fix, but one that should be done by Kaine at Vero. You should email them, they have great CS.

Do you find the legibility of the seconds hand is hampered by the dial color? I'm researching Vero watch models and color ways. Thanks
