Singapore Crunchers first meetup a success!

8 random watch crunch strangers that didn't know each other at all came together last night and we got on like a house on fire. We had a blast.

Big thanks to @smoothscott for the boutique hook up and thanks to everyone ( @MultiX @Thrawn @firegonnova @ars3nal02 @mrgrumps @tickingclock) who were brave enough to be our guinea pigs for WC's first ever Singapore meet up!

We kicked things off with a chat about IWC and their watches. Big shout out to Frank, the assistant boutique manager for his hospitality. Unfortunately, no Ingenieur was in the house, but we got to see the dials up close and personal.

The aqua color is a deep, rich aquamarine.

@smoothscott shared his previous gen Ingenieur with a more sporty look - black ceramic bezel, red accents, on a nicely textured dial. V cool.

The Ingenieur wait list is easily 2 years with the aqua as the most popular. Forget about the titanium one!

We shared the watches that we wore and some highlights:

Bulgari Octo Roma Worldtimer. Nice heft, beautiful blue color, busy in a good way dial with the clearly segregated rings. Great piece @ars3nal02.

Surprising watch of the night goes to @MultiX with the most non Tudor looking Tudor that I've ever seen. It was the first watch that I wanted to know what in the world it was the black bay P01. The part on top of the 12 o clock position locks the bezel in place. Has an integrated steel sports watch look. Rugged and masculine watch!

The most unique watch of the night goes to @tickingclock and his Seiko 5 that he built! Yes, built, not modded. Yachtmaster like bezel, dial with red accents, arrow hands, shark on the seconds hand, carbon case (?). Super cool watch.

Someone requested me to bring my VC Traditionnelle Openface, so here it is (didn't take a pic of the watch during the event, so an old photo).

I also brought along my latest acquisition, a neo-vintage VC historiques chronograph.

@ars3nal02 also brought his Gerald genta watch with jumping hour and Retrograde minutes. V cool and hard to find piece.

I didn't have pics of the others watches, but we also had a JLC reverso duoface, JLC Reverso moon phase, IWC Mark.... XVI? XIV?

We had a good chat despite zero alcohol. Imagine next time when we get liquored up! All in a very successful night and this meetup of random people is a testament to the community pull of WC. We had a microcosm of the platform in real life. Please add your pics folks or jump in with how the meetup went and ideas on how to make it better.

Apologies to the folks that couldn't make it or we had to politely decline due to no space at the boutique. @mrgrumps who is the community manager of Delugs has gladly volunteered his space to host the next up to 20pax meetup. We might do a strap changing and color matching workshop. Maybe Delugs will also give us "mates rates" wink wink.
