It's likely one of the most misused labels in the watch community.

People often buy a GADA, then a beater, because their GADA is actually a GSDSSIIWGS(Go Someplaces, Do Somethings, Sometimes, If It Wont Get Scratched)...

Essentially, it's the "one watch collection", while still allowing for other watches.

I have nor heard the phrase Strap Goblin before, but adding two more letters would also change the pronunciation. It is now gee gee TELL-gadasm, which I think sort of works. 😂

In that spirit, here’s an unusual watch I found online today.

I think for a lot of people it's more about having one what that can do everything, even if that's not how they use it.

I travel a lot for work, so having a watch that can go from the field to the conference room is handy. It's not like I don't own other watches, but the option to take one watch for all occasions when travelling is appealing.

I'd be the guy with a rose gold Aquanaut that looks like it went through a blender...

But funds are limited, so I suffer through the burden of owning CWs, Marathons, etc... 🤣

What would be awesome is to send a pic of that watch to Hodinkee, Nico, or some other insta-talking head, just to watch the ranting bwahahahaha 😈😝.

I was similarly confused by the term until recently when the penny dropped.

In my defence, I never go anywhere or do anything, so my confusion is entirely understandable. 😜

Go anywhere, do anything. I have a bone to pick with this term myself, as most of us don't need a true GADA watch. We each have our own "everywhere" and "anything." I don't need to go to the edge of the Earth or summit Mount Everest, I need to go to school and back, or go to the pub and back. I don't need to do anything, I need my watch to look good in a blazer and keep reasonable time. So, GADA for me is GTSOTPWSLGETFOWTOBBATMG

Going to school and or the pub while still looking good enough to flirt outrageously with teachers or bartenders before apologising to my girlfriend.
