Looking at a retirement watch but can’t decide, Large-Medium?

Want to moan about the sales people at Cartier at the big store in Oxford Street while viewing the watches they we talking over repeatedly to each other saying “the price is increasing the wise choice is to buy now” ffs

Medium because the no-date looks cleaner

Funny enough I would love my Tank XL to be dateless but I’d rather an automatic than quartz for my own personal reasons. Nothing against any other.

·

Medium 100%

·

Medium. The date and larger size completely ruins the essence of the witch for me.

·

I think the medium looks better on your wrist, but that's subjective! Which way are you leaning?

·

Medium for sure

Also yikes at that ham handed attempt at forcing a sale, embarrassing

·

Definitely the medium. Congratulations on the retirement!

·

Medium. It’s the way god intended the Santos to be

·

Medium is the way

·

Medium. Cartier’s (in my opinion) should always wear smaller. Especially when it comes to square shaped dials.

·

Large

·

I'd go medium as the bigger the Santos gets, the less beautiful it looks.

·

Medium!

·

I have a large one myself.. Yet I like the medium on you?!?!

·

Gotta go medium. It is the right proportion to keep the Cartier essence. The Large is not bad, but it becomes something completely different. Enjoy either you chose 👍

·

Love the way the medium wears!

·

Idk man…my thought is go with the one you love. I love the one in the wrist shot for what it’s worth

·

medium looks better

·

Medium is much better!! I have the large and I’m not really happy about the size! Too big

Medium 👌🏻

I bought a 2T Cartier Santos in the late 80s after marriage but felt it looked small eventually sized the bracelet for my 5ft 2 inch wife who has nice wrists, she prefers her larger round Ballon Bleu however. I remain a Santos fan so do own the 100 XL and a blue dial large of the most recent model. The majority of commenters suggest the medium but you should choose the one you feel is best for you. Prices are going to increase, sales agents need to sell but you should think carefully. I waited almost 2 years before buying a Breitling Datora triple calendar not very intelligent suffered 3 price increases here in Canada for a watch that I was always going to buy except some self doubts about the Concepto manufacture movement. The majority of reviews on YouTube were favourable criticizing only the thickness which is not a personal concern. The best advice I want to offer is decide for yourself.

Do you want to purchase in a store with those kinds of salespeople in it?

Given your wrist size, I'd say the medium wears better. I thought the medium would look good on mine but once on the wrist, I thought it looked tiny on mine. Also my hot take with the worldwide economy showing signs of stress and watch buyers reacting negatively to price increases from many luxury brands, is that Cartier will not raise prices like other brands have to avoid a reduction in sales.

I think they both look good on you, but the medium sits better.
