Islander watches. For those who own one or more what's your experience so far?

Title says it all. I've owned this for 4 months now and it is for sure one of my favorites in the collection. But I'd like to hear other experiences from other islander owners.

The short of it is that it's very nice and I don't mind at all that they are sold by one of the nicest guy you can buy a watch from.

·

I have only bought bracelets from them for Orients and Seikos and they are great. I have yet to see an Islander that isn’t a clone of original designs or too gaudy for my liking. Can’t get past the strange logo either.

·

Want to get my eyes on them at wind up watch fair I hope

·

I have a handful. Thoroughly pleased. If there's ever an issue, they have stellar customer service.

Don’t have one but it does look realy good 😲👍🏻

·

Excellent quality and excellent customer service. The warranty is just one year, but it is good. One of my Islanders needed a new crown. Replaced under warranty and it was a seamless process

·

BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE IN THE INDUSTRY!!!

·

I’ve owned 2 Islanders over my time. Both excellent for price and well built. Customer service is also top notch.

·

Meeting Marc Frankel gives my ISL-9 that extra something something that imbues the purchase with positive feelings. Great dude, great watch.

From what i can see in their past year releases they have started to come out with more original designs. Some are still homages but nice to see some new ones. This northporth has the seiko mas case but that's all it has in similarities.

Is the last one a model they don't release anymore?

I agree. It’s not a copy (homage) of anything else and is more original. This falls in my eyes as gaudy and flashy. Not to my taste but glad you enjoy it!

I have seven Islanders at the moment. So obviously I like the brand, and yes, Marc is one of the nicest guys in the industry and offers excellent service.

·

I own 3 Islanders, not a hitch or complaint with any of them.

·

I have bracelets from them for my Mako and Duro but, no watches...yet! They are high on my list.

·

I've got three, and they've been good solid purchases, for the money. My first, and favorite (ISL-19 pepsi diver) has been perfect. My ISL-39 has a slight chapter ring misalignment that I didn't notice until long after getting it. I could have sent it in, and I'm sure they would have corrected it, but I didn't bother. It's not that big of a deal to me, and I will fix it myself one day when I'm bored. I did have a problem with my Northport second hand scraping the crystal, causing the watch to stop when the power reserve got low enough that it couldn't overcome the friction. I sent it in, and it was promptly fixed, with no problems.

Great looking collection!

·

I've had one for a little over 3 years and a 2nd for about 2 1/2 years. Mine have been bulletproof, and I feel a great value. I also gifted one to my (adult) son this summer. I prefer the cleaner look of older models with just the logo, but I can't fault Marc for wanting to put his brand in the dial.

Aren't you the one who made the clock for Marc?

·

I cannot see this brand without automatically start singing "I am an island boy..." 😂

Yes. I made one for myself too.

If I had to choose between two places to buy a watch, unless the discount was huge, I would give my business to Long Island Watch. Marc is one of the nicest guys in the business.

·

I've had my eyes on a handful of his models, for a bit now. He's a good guy too

I have two, a RangeMaster and a Brookville. I love them both!

·

I love mine (Southold) and my partner as well (Manhasset). I definitely buy more in the future to replace my Invicta Pro diver (will be given to my son) and my Orient Ray 2 (beautiful, but since I needed to change the crystal the water resistance isn't guaranteed, so what good is a diver when you cannot swim with it). Next target: the Brookville two tone.

I've owned the ISL-116 Southold since picking it up last November on a Black Friday deal. I love the red ombre dial and the case shape. I also have purchased parts from Marc to build my Faux-Lander, an SKX homage with fully lumed dial, lumed sapphire bezel insert, and the Islander case back featuring the lighthouse.
