The Diver's Extension Clasp Saga Continues!

In my search for tool free micro adjust clasps, I think I have found my favourite iteration so far.

I bought this 18mm Divers Extension clasp from San Martin's website directly on sale to use on my bracelet.

https://www.sanmartin.watch/products/new-fly-adjustable-clasp-for-18mm-20mm?cfb=affbc331-d100-44ef-83c1-e598668480a5&scm=relative.v14.17.18.19.20&score=5.4226296920246835&ssp=spz

Size comparison to Strap Code THICC diver extension clasp and their regular security fold over clasp.

The San Martin is much slimmer than Strap Code's very THICC version. It is not as overbuilt, and a little more flimsy, but great on the wrist.

Erebus/Zelos: Let me buy just the clasp already!!!!

As always, if you can recommend a good tool free micro adjust clasp (18mm) to purchase, let me know.

Not bad for $22!

What was shipping time like?

·

Long Island Watch has a nice one, well made, and works very well. Not inexpensive at around USD $59, but it is an excellent clasp, IMHO.

2 weeks thereabouts. Well packed in double bubble wrap bags.

It's the same Strapcode clasp sadly. Mixed feelings on it. Very well built, crunchy opening though, too bulky. https://www.watchcrunch.com/AshKetchup/posts/first-impressions-strapcode-super-o-boyer-bracelet-with-diver-s-extension-clasp-337383

Very similar, for sure, but Marc has an Islander branded clasp with extension. It is pretty much a spitting image of the Strapcode. I have it on one of his oyster-type bracelets; mounted on my Heritage Ranger. It helps balance out the weight of the watch and makes a world of difference in comfort.

Ok man. Thanks for the link. I’m in! Hopefully replacement for the poor Sinn clasp.

Can we just gift one to every poor soul who has a grands Seiko metal bracelet

·

The turning inside the clasp is so interesting!

·

Anybody have a lead on a good similar clasp in 16mm!?

No need. I like them very much because I prefer a slim, short, flat clasp to a 72 adjustment-holes-monstrocity.

Nevertheless, I can understand the lads who can’t find the right fit. Happened to me on the Fujitsubo: Monstrocity of a flimsy clasp and it’s either too tight or too loose 🤷🏻‍♂️

·

Love these. They’re great and cheap.

Poor isn’t necessarily the association I have for owners of a GS, but yes, everyone deserves a good clasp on their watches.

·

Email Zelos, I have bought buckle and pin alone from them twice.

·

My Gevril came with a nice thin one from factory. On a five piece per link tapered band. Its like a omega seamaster band but made to be comfortable with a 22mm to 19mm taper and this quick on wrist adjustable clasp

Email sent. I never thought to just ask as well. Thanks.

Zelos replied: declined to sell just a clasp. Said custom endlinks which would not fit other bracelets....

No reply from Erebus.... Yet.

I love San Martin’s bracelets in general! I have several of their other style of on the fly adjustable clasps. I like that you can adjust it it seems without opening the clasp. Mine I really would need to open the clasp in order to adjust it. I wonder which one is the better version.

The one you have shown Is the better version. When the divers extension is all the way out on mine, it is flimsy. And your clasp does not get longer which is cool.

Just a cleaner execution all around.

I've been looking for this exactly! Thanks for posting.

I totally agree, the Strapcode one is too thick.

No worries. After 2 weeks of use, it has become smoother and works quite nicely for me.
