Thank you all who responded and those who will !!! I appreciate it …No I don’t have a perpetual calendar… my watches are all sub $1000 … a couple quartz, some autos and some manual winds. I guess I’ll just save the money, sounds like you don’t really need one until I buy a Patek Philippe in my next life!! 🤞🏼Thanks again everyone

If it’s between these two I would go with the alpinist. the Murph is in my opinion overpriced. the field khaki automatic is the exact same movement, same watch witjout the cathedral hands and anti reflective coating… don’t think that’s worth $200-$300 more .. unless your a huge fan of the movie then I understand … voted for the alpinist

  • It’s a great watch. I love the “vintage“ style, the history of the Alpinist also adds a little extra awesomeness owning this watch. 200m water resistance and 70 hour power reserve are a nice bonus to this beautiful watch. But I expect more from the caliber 6r35. I do understand this is still a mid level watch but for almost $800, it leaves something to be desired. My opinion is the best value for your money in the entry level/ mid level, would be the Hamilton field khaki automatic. It’s $100 cheaper, has an  ETA movement, 100m water resistance, 80 hour power reserve, mine is running at +2/+3 seconds a day. But the Alpinist is so much better looking, and overall a great watch in its own right. Im glad I bought mine and I’m sure you won’t regret buying yours as well
