I love this watch and have been thinking about purchasing the same one in stainless/brown.  Overall thoughts on the piece?  Thanks in advance - beautiful piece.

  • It’s a great watch. I love the “vintage“ style, the history of the Alpinist also adds a little extra awesomeness owning this watch. 200m water resistance and 70 hour power reserve are a nice bonus to this beautiful watch. But I expect more from the caliber 6r35. I do understand this is still a mid level watch but for almost $800, it leaves something to be desired. My opinion is the best value for your money in the entry level/ mid level, would be the Hamilton field khaki automatic. It’s $100 cheaper, has an  ETA movement, 100m water resistance, 80 hour power reserve, mine is running at +2/+3 seconds a day. But the Alpinist is so much better looking, and overall a great watch in its own right. Im glad I bought mine and I’m sure you won’t regret buying yours as well

I appreciate the detailed response.  I like the Khaki too - but I can't get over that there's no AR coating.  Right now I'm between the Seiko SPB209J1 (Alpinist) and the Murph.  There's just something about the Alpinist...the history etc.  Anyhow, yours is a fine piece and I appreciate the feedback!
