My grandpa always wore different models of Casios, and I got one from Walmart because of how much I admire him as a man. And then a few Teddy Baldassarre, WatchCrunch, and Hodinkee articles/ videos later, somehow I ended up here.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
Treehut Classic Boyd
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
My wife bought me a wooden watch from Treehut as a birthday gift while we were dating in high school. It stayed at the bottom of my dresser drawer until I got into watches. Now it’s the most meaningful piece in my collection and the only watch I own that has a personalized inscription. It has a forever spot in my watch box (even though it’s a specification abomination).
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Have fun browsing. Buy what you like. Buy what you can afford. Tell other people about watches and collecting; a lot of people will fall into the same trap you did.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
