Who wins?
Note: I own both, just bought the Royal in Silver and I can say.... I am feeling it more than my DJ2, or it just might be the excitement cuz I just got it ๐ค

Presumably it's possible to buy the Royal relatively easily whereas the DJ has all the wait list nonsense? That alone makes it a winner for me.

Agreed on that point, adding to that the bracelet which is really beautiful and the Day/Date compliments it..... so far I just think it has more to offer...
Full day display is great and I'm ambivalent on the bezel between the two. I'm less a fan of integrated bracelet, the cut-off numerals and the lack of date magnifier. Less dial text is more better though.

I hadn't come across the Royal before but I must say I really like the way it blends classic (the curved full day at 12) and modern (that slightly industrial chic bezel is gorgeous). The date at 3 is also very well disguised and doesn't upset the balance in my eyes. Plus I prefer no cyclops.
Been seriously looking at the royal in the 38mm no date in blue or salmon ,the bezel has vintage Rolex 6623 models. Still waiting on the call for the motif dial datejust (itโs the only Rolex Iโve any major interest in) โฆcongrats on two lovely pieces

Off topic: I'm intrigued by the pocket watch in your profile photo. What is it?
I think youโre in the honeymoon phase. Ask this question in 6 months.

Yeah I have this feeling also. Thanks for the wake up call ๐
Iโve already got the royal day date so the datejust would be nice to add to it haha I do wish they did the royal day date in the smaller case size as well though
Congrats! They are completely different looking watches in my opinion so I wouldnโt put them head to head. I canโt tell from the photo if the Tudor is brushed all the way around. If so, that would be a turnoff for me given the use case I have in mind.

Hi mate, I have the DJ2 in Blue and the Royal Day Date in Silver, the bracelet is brushed on the royal but the 2 middle links are glossy

Thatโs beautiful! Thanks for posting.
Cyclops Vs Intergrated bracelet. Which do I dislike the least? ๐ค
To me the Datejust with fluted bezel is the iconic Rolex model - so the DJ got my vote.

Cyclops
Datejust: Itโs a classic original.
Tudor is definitely royal, but Rolex wears the crown.
Outside of the Blackbay models I think this is an area Tudor could improve designs drasticallyโฆhopefully this is something they address in the near future
I owen and love the Royal, but the DJ has the look brand and heritage ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธand Iโm not a Rolex fanboy ๐คฃ
The Royal is certainly way more bang for the buck though ๐๐ป
