am I the only one who wants to buy  every watch with a Lemania 5100 in it?

Isn't that one discontinued? I read they are not making them anymore.

I have the poor man's version.  7750 powered.

Not me, but I don't blame you for it...  That's a beauty!

Yeah, the 5100 has been out of production for some time now.

love the LeJours!

I wore it in the hospital when by twins were born, and my wife has their birth times engraved on the back.  Its permanently in my collection.

The dial layout of the 5100 is certainly appealing, although it wasn't a stellar design. Stamped sheet metal and plastic. Plenty of parts to wear out easily, a lot to go wrong, and I'd avoid a long-unserviced specimen like the plague. However, somehow, while being the sheet metal and plastic that it is, the original 5100 did its job, and what's more, it did the job well.

Its successor, the ETA C01.211, is - alas - far from being reliable. In fact, I wonder how did ETA not anticipate that reducing an auto chrono to 15 jewels and replacing even more metal components with plastic just won't work. Having worked in watch retail, I remember Tissot chronographs using the C01.211 were absolutely notorious for landing up on warranty repair. One guy even hesitated between selling his on eBay and just throwing it in the trash - 5 visits to the service centre in two years, well... That pretty much says it all.
