Certina or CW

SUPER torn… I have narrowed down my “want” list to two watches. For the same relative amount of money I could have the Certina DS Action Diver 38 Titanium (say that 5 times fast), OR the Christopher Ward C60 Trident Pro 300… both have their draw and both have their negatives subjectively. Which would you choose and most importantly, WHY?? All opinions welcome!

The CW is more versatile in the looks department than the Certina. It just looks nicer in my opinion too overall. I have the green dial C60 and its beautiful!

Thank you for your contribution!

No worries! Whatever you pick I hope you love it. ❤️

·

Love the CW. I have a couple and the fit and finish is way above the price point.

·

Fan of Certina for sure but of the two I’d go CW on looks alone

·

If it were my money? Certina. Why? Cuz I already have a CW.

Let us know what you decide, and pics when you get it.

·

I haven’t seen the Certina in person, but I’m a sucker for Ti, so on that alone, Certina.

·

The Certina titanium 38mm is just about my favourite daily wearer.

I added a rubber strap.

I have the Certina and absolutely love it. The bracelet feels a little thin and cheap, but for a Titanium diver, you can’t get much better than this one. The grey and powder blue look so good together.

The lume color is my main draw! I have a titanium Zelos but the color combo of the Certina gets me good

·

The Certina because it’s way cheaper! ;)

·

I prefer the look of the Certina but most likely because it reminds me of my Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean but in a better (for me) size.

·

I believe that Certina is 550 on Jomashop in case you go in that direction

·

Certina all day here. Good luck with your choice.. enjoy either or. 💪🏼

·

Ti all day.

·

C Ward all the way... I don't think that powermatic 80 is in it for lasting and repearability

·

Certina has more old school looks while the CW has more modern looks. Can't go wrong with either

·

For those prices, the Christopher Ward.

Their adjustable clasp is great, handsome looks, excellent build quality, great movement, and a solid 60 month warranty.

·

They share some overlap but they’re quite different as well. The CW has a sharper and glossier look which feels refined and sophisticated by comparison, but also by comparison, maybe too fancy to get its hands dirty. The Certina has an unassuming burliness and subdued style while boldly proclaiming willingness and capability. Its upgraded P-matic 80 is nice. I think they’re a similar comp between a Breitling SuperOcean Heritage and a Tudor Pelagos. I would select the one which better complements my personal style or lifestyle.

·

I’d go with the CW personally. It’s a cool black diver but it’s not going as much for the submariner look and if you’re like me you’d like

To own one someday and the cow doesn’t quite look as much like its homaging. If that makes sense. Both are great brands and if you like TI more than go with the certina but i think cw is where I’d go. Hope you enjoy whichever you pick!

·

I have the Certina and absolutely love it. I haven’t experienced CW yet, so I can’t speak to that brand, but I have found the Certina to be robust, versatile, and well proportioned (especially when you take it off of the male end-link bracelet). Here are a few configurations I’ve tried:

The Certina if you value heritage. However, I do believe the CW had a fly adjust clasp? If so, that would decide it for me.

·

I know it may be a matter of mm but the male end link protrusion on the Certina seem very long. If you have a smaller wrist I’d want to try on a 38mm action diver if you can.

CW is my personal preference (I own a CW Aquitaine and love it) but I would say the lume color on the Certina is very unique.

Whatever you love more …

·

I would just step it up to a Tudor 54 and you’ll be way happier down the road.

Certina looks cool

·

I'd go with the certina, looks better imo, the CW looks off, the hour hand is too long and slender, the indices are too slender the bezel too slender, doesn't work for me. The certina also has better history and its titanium.

·

Certina without a doubt. I prefer the case shape, the round indexes and their color, the minute graduation on the bezel

·

Certina. Heritage!

Certina's now get more wrist time than Seiko's for me recently, tool watches with class!
