Never took myself as an IWC guy…guess I was wrong!

I always thought they would be too big…but I learned, you have to try them on! Especially with well made watches. They sit different. How come we don’t hear more about this brand!?

A watch doesn't have to be small despite the trends

The brand has been around since the 19th century. It is well covered on WC, YouTube and in online magazines. Seems to have as many detractors as it has fans.

IWC is Schaffhausen. I recall a much older Polish friend who was surprised that I was unfamilar with Schaffhausen back in the 60s when my dad gifted me an Omega Seamaster, when I showed him my new timepiece since he wore a steel Constellation. He operated a small tailor and dry clean shop in old Chinatown but kept his gold dress watch, a Schaffhausen for his occasional meetings with his landlord or other persons that he felt needed to impress. Seem to recall Schaffhausen either became IWC or simply added the name to appeal to more conservative buyers who believed S to be too ethnic.

Very cool & good looking watch. And yeah, fits you perfectly 👌🏻. IWC does get its coverage (and space in most luxury ADs) but I agree, this forum seems to lean much more towards Omega (who compete roughly in the same arena - although IWC does have several much more high end pieces). The brand was originally founded by an American, so would expect more US support here :-) I really like their Portugieser series - and there are some really lovely vintages pieces around 👍🏻

One day I will be able to afford one of these... Very nice!

Looks really good on you mate. Totally agree with your point about trying it out. The pilot chrono is one of those watches that actually look better at 43 rather than the 41mm they released recently. My only gripe is probably the thickness which is abit much tbh. But other than that it’s really a beautiful time piece.
