Baltic Aquascaphe Black Silver vs. Baltic Aquascaphe Titanium

Choices, choices, choices...

Looking for help/opinions from my WC family to help me choose a dive watch from #baltic

Option A - Baltic Aquascaphe Black Silver

Image

What I like about the watch

  1.  39mm x 47mm; 12mm thick
  2. Sapphire unidirectional bezel
  3.  Sandwich dial (don't have one yet)
  4.  Water resistance - 20 ATM
  5.  Green Super-Luminova
  6.  Price - $580

Option B - Baltic Aquascaphe Titanium

What I like about the watch

  1.  41mm x 47mm; 13.6mm thick
  2. Titanium case (only 55 grams) (don't have one yet)
  3.  Ceramic unidirectional bezel (don't have one yet)
  4.  Water resistance - 30 ATM
  5.  Blue Super-Luminova
  6.  Price - $710

I think both watches look very nice and would be great additions to my collection. Both have a Miyota 9039 automatic movement, which is just kinda blah, but the rest of the watch makes up for the movement IMHO.

Choices, choices, choices...

What are your thoughts? Please let me know your thoughts/opinions below.

Personally, titanium trumps sandwich dial. I also have neither of those but have been itching to get a titanium watch - especially something like a 55g diver! Blue lume too, don't have any of those. Size is listed as a positive for both, so it just comes down to what features you're looking for since aesthetics are almost identical.

So in summary, there are no wrong choices (:

Go for the titanium because you said you had not have one before. Better something sub $1k and above before finding out titanium watches aren't your thing.

I'm also intrigued by a titanium dial given the incredible lightness, but I have heard that they scratch pretty easily.

I usually would prefer blue over black, but I think black suits this watch better. The smaller size is also a pluss in my book 😊

I'm going with choice C

There's something about the blue/gilt that I really like.  They bring warmth and character to the watch that I find lacking in the all blue/all black.

·

well its all very handsome watch, but im with @thekris on this one. at least you have all colour combined. blue dial and insert, sweet gilt indices, and black strap. 🍺

Option B.  I think I'll add to the bag shortly. 😀

I looked at this watch, but I'm not sure that I'm not as big of a fan of the blue/gilt combination as you and @Unholy

And that's why giving watch advice is tough.  I think I would go with the titanium.  Sandwich dials are cool, but I think a titanium case is more interesting.  Either way, you're getting a pretty great watch.

A, not even close for me...

·

If they have the black in titanium, that would be best of both worlds imo. Between these two, I'm leaning towards the black/steel

·

Immediately first choice was A.
titanium though…. Hmmmm tough choice.

·

I'll throw a wrench in this.

Zelos comes out with the Aurora on Monday.  Beautiful dials, titanium (with anti-scratch coating), quick adjust clasp, easy bracelet release system, and anti-magnetic.  Same Miyota movement as the Baltics you are considering.

Under $500.

I'd probably go for the Titanium in those two options. Bigger but lighter case, the blue super luminova and the dial being printed and not sandwiched. If you want an Option C- maybe take a look at the White dial Aquascaphe- to me it fits in-between the two.
