Problems with my Seiko

Hey guys, I recently got a problem with my Seiko SPB187 and the 6R35 movement. I'm thinking about selling it but I am not sure. So I would like to hear your comments on that.

First only the bezel sometimes doesn't klick when I turn it quickly. I think it's not a big deal to repair. The watch is only 2 y/o so it annoyed me.

Few days ago I got the watch out of the watchbox after not wearing it for 2 days (power reserve is 70h) and noticed that it's -2 minutes slow. I said to myself that I probably didn't set the time right. I corrected the time wore it but it back into the watchbox. Now two days later it's nearly the same.

I've had the watch already regulated 1 year after buying it because the watch was running horrible after the AD cleaned of some dust of the dial. So the watch runs off time 1 year after regulating it. That isn't normal, or is it? All my other watches are running far more precise. Even the vintage watch that probably haven't seen a watchmaker in the last 20 to 30 years. I would be fine with that if the watch wouldn't have been so god damn expensive for a Seiko. I love the blue dial and the short lug to lug. It wears comfortably and looks great. But a watch I can not rely on is quiet useless.

I've 2 options I think. I can ask my local watchmaker (not the AD from last time regulating) if he could regulate the watch and change the bezel. But that would cost me some extra money and I still have to take the risk to do it all over again next year. The second option would be to sell it. The bracelet has some scratches. The watch loses some time and the bezel has a problem too, so I would "lose" approximately about 400 € I think which is 200 more than I would like. There would be a substitute watch for me either right now. So it isn't something like if I tell myself I sell this watch because I doesn't like it that much anymore even if I do I can get this or that. It is just frustration. And with the frustration I start telling myself how bad the watch is even tough I was looking for nearly 2 years for a watch with a blue dial that fitted for me. Was all that for nothing?

Would love to hear what you would do.

Cheers!

With the bezel, I would just get it looked at after removing and giving it a cleanup. Probably some dust or some debri causing some issues with the clicks. Its been 2 years and if you wore the watch regularly then some dirt accumulating is not a big issue. Also, the Seiko bezel action is dampened so probably may have missed the click sound.

With the movement, I would first check if it is magnetized and then get it regulated. If it was running normal before and all of a sudden there is a deviation, check for magnetization and get it demagnetised. If you are doing it through a watchmaker then ask him to check it on a watchgrapher and may as well regulate if it got deviated after being magnetized.

The watch doesn't sound to me to be in any condition to be sold at the moment, at whatever price.

Looks like something you can sell on Facebook marketplace. 🙊🤣

Get it fixed!!

If you love the watch & intend to keep forever it doesn't matter the cost as it'll be spread over a lifetime.

Fwiw I just had bezel replaced on my Willard, cost £80 Inc postage to/from Seiko UK

Try giving it a full winding and leave it on your wrist a couple days. Something similar was happening to my spb333 and it seems that the issue is solved now.
