Rubber strap on "dress" watch?

I have rubber straps on my diver and field watches, I found that I have tendency to wear those a lot more than the ones with leather straps. Wondering how rubber strap might do on something like GS which is considered "dress" watch. I mostly dress casual - semi-casual, very very rarely formal. So does the dress watch plus rubber strap ( black ) work in this case?

I’m pretty sure it could, as you can get silicone straps to simulate a variety of patterning, or just a plain Matt finish.

Zenith have interesting straps, leather on the outside, rubber on the inside. Something like this might interest you.

Hirsch has straps with a waterproof leather outer look but rubber on the inside. Might be worth looking into

I’ve one and they are great. Stick with the pin buckle as the deployant isn’t very comfortable

Check out the cheapest nato straps “Marlin band-o”.  I wear it on my sarb033 and think it looks pretty good

If you keep it black and the band doesn’t have any textures or ribs to it, I bet it would work and nobody would be the wiser. 🤙

I think if you have the right rubber strap that is not too chunky with a less ornate dress watch, you're good to go.

May technically be called a sports watch but in white gold it feels more like a dress watch, and the rubber certainly works

The Santos De Cartier may also not technically be a dress watch, but it certainly can be dressy. The black rubber strap that comes with some models works great with it, making it feel a bit sportier.
