Watches at Costco

Anybody else in the forum shop as Costco?  I always stop by the watch case when I am cruising by the Costco jewelry department.  I just went to Costco this evening and they are seriously picking up their watch game!  At least half of the watches were automatics with an automatic Raymond Weil, Seiko 5, and several other diver watches that were interesting.  All automatics were less than $1,000.  It is about time they get on board as their selection has been pretty pathetic for the past 15 years!

I see Seiko, Glycine and Raymond Weil at my local one.

It’s a little annoying wading through the nonsense, but it looks like there’s some decent stuff hidden in there.

Huwuhaa...

Sorry. Just threw up in my mouth a little.

WTF is that monstrosity?  It's almost like their design team is like:

>snicker snicker< Think they'll buy this?!  Surely they won't buy this one! Look how bad we made it!

I sometimes wonder if they aren't just seeing how far they can go before the rest of us get the joke.  But mostly I think they're deadly serious about this stuff.

Also, I'm impressed you managed to keep the vomit in your mouth, I was not so lucky.

They had the Combat Sub 46 I was looking at for $299, but now I don't see it on the website.  Saw the Devil Diver though

I always check out their watches on my weekly trip to pick up supplies (and get gas).  I've seen Glycine (Combat Subs and the Airman), Omegas (though not recently), Bulovas, Seikos, Citizens, Casios and a host of fashion brand watches in the warehouse. You can also often find some interesting watches at Costco.com (I saw a Speedmaster there once that I was eying before it sold out).

FYI, it's not surprising to find out that Costco is a big grey market dealer.  Costco fought Omega all the way to the Supreme Court for the right to sell watches it acquired abroad in the US when it was not an authorized reseller (case involved 120 Seamaster watches) https://www.thefashionlaw.com/resource-center/cases-of-interest-omega-s-a-v-costco-wholesale-corp/

I'd love to have a Kirkland Signature™ Seamaster!

Seriously, I do look at the 42mm Glycine Combat Sub for $299 everytime I'm there. I think it's a pretty decent watch for the money. Unfortunately, it's a bit redundant in my collection.

would be awesome to see some k-sig autos in the display case. I'm always tempted to buy their putter (I use their golf balls which are pretty good quality for the price)

Just checked out Costco online and they added this seamaster gmt titanium in the last day or so, definitely gray market pricing ($7k), so was wondering about this exact thread and found your post. Costco is my happy place

I bought the putter and it’s great quality. Didn’t end up helping my game, but not blaming the putter. it’s in my putter rotation when I need a change haha, just like watches!

I love Costco and they helpfully point out that because they are grey, you get no manufacturer's warranty but you get their money back guarantee which I don't believe has a time limit for watches (but I could be wrong).  Here is what they say about it on their page for the Omega: "This item is covered by Costco's guarantee to refund your purchase price if you are not completely satisfied. Costco's guarantee applies, even though this item may not be covered by the manufacturer's warranty, because Costco is not an "authorized" dealer of the merchandise."

If this is their old standard unlimited time guarantee, I would take it over any grey market warranty.
