What do you think describes the perfect watch collection? How many pieces should it have? Which types of watches should be included, like dive watches?

I’d say you could do it in one watch if you’re really after a challenge. For me, I’m super basic at times like this so it’d be a speedy (got one) a pre-ceramic no-date sub (no hope in hell) and a 36mm Datejust (no chance) or similar, so three for me.
I like other watches too much to whittle it down tho lol. 😂
Every watch collection is perfect to the eyes of the beholder. 😁

When I started with watches I thought one watch would be enough.
Now I think my watch collection is perfect when it contains a diver, dress watch, complicated watch and last but not least a GMT or dual time watch.
Really cool is a combination of those watches in one watch.
I tend to think of my collection and adding to it in terms of types of watches; dive, pilot, field, dress, everyday, and beater, and also in terms of brands. So, I would have one of each type for each brand ideally. Of course, not every brand makes every type, and some brands are more expensive than I am comfortable spending for a beater. I do have one brand that I have one of each type; the Islander line from Long Island Watch.

Of course, I have more Islanders than this, but this is an example of how I think about collecting and what constitutes a perfect collection. These six watches would be a perfect brand collection for me.

You’re missing a GMT and Chronograph in there.

Yeah, I know, but those aren't really types I actively seek out, rather they are types I get if I find a particular one I like. I have a few in my collection but only because I found models I liked.
Everyone's idea of the perfect collection is unique.
There's no one perfect collection. Collect what you want regardless of what others think about it.
For me: GADA (BB36), diver/beater (Sinn U50 T) and chrono (Junghans max bill). Perfect!
Well, that has to be mine. For me.

Gotta get a logo change…something about it bothers me. Won’t buy one for that one reason…
I say could be 1-3+ depends your style, taste and addiction.
