Breitling Navitimer ref. 7806. What's your favorite Navitimer reference?

Introduced in the 1950s, the Breitling Navitimer series has long been associated with aviation and pilots. The Ref. 7806 is a vintage gem that captures the essence of the collection with its distinctive slide-rule bezel, which allows for various calculations related to flight navigation. One of the defining features of the Ref. 7806 is its stunning dial design. The black dial with contrasting subdials and red accents on the slide-rule markings and chronograph hands further enhances its overall appeal. Additionally, for the first time in Navitimer's history, a date display is integrated at 4:30. This timepiece truly stands out on the wrist. While it may lack the convenience of an automatic movement, the manual winding adds to the vintage charm and sense of involvement of owning this timepiece. Here we have it on our Full-Stitch Root Beer leather strap.

A killer watch and an excellent strap pairing here. New to the world of Breitling but have always been a Navitimer fan both from the horological and aviation enthusiast perspective!

·

love, love, LOVE it!! 👍

·

Beautiful watch.. Don't have a favorite Navitimer.. but the new Navitimer 41mm with blue dial and B01 movement is just beautiful

·

I wish they made that reverse panda dial in the 41mm case size.

Beautiful strap/watch combo; my fav Navi is either the “TWA” or “PanAm” from the airline release a couple years back 🤙❤️

·

I love the Twin Sixty A39022.1

·

Beautiful watch, I'm not familiar with this reference, only the 806. What size is it, it looks small for a Navitimer.

·

Found a few used ones in that reference….41mm nice. And more affordable than the modern references.

·

Oooh I love this one, perfect for us tiny wrist fellas

I own a Limited Edition Navitimer 1461 annual calendar watch with a modified ETA movement bought it new from my regular multi brand ad quite a few years ago has become a watch that I like to travel with. Not certain why Breitling has not or not willing to adapt their in house movement for more complications such as a triple calendar or annual calendar. I have looked at the new iterations, feel no connection to them which is personally surprising. Not a Navitimer but I noticed a new black ceramic GMT Chronograph fitted with one of their in house movements that I might save for. I like visiting a young watch seller here in Toronto whose family have sold the brand as well as many others for decades who informs me that many older customers of the brand have not exactly embraced the directions since Georges Kern became CEO, most concerning is the need to have any new B serviced by an authorized shop twice during the duration of the 5 year warranty. In Toronto, I calculate the cost to be around 1k cad for each warranty service validation visit. I have not investigated personally but if true might be a future factor. I am new to Watch Crunch do not sense Breitling to be a brand too many of the enthusiasts either like or have experience with.

All of them.

I am truly sorry. I thought I was helping, aka enabling! 😜 It is gorgeous but at retail, not the crazy prices of today. We are a weird bunch, aren't we? 🤷🏽‍♂️🍻

You don't see the bank giving you interest like that!

·

My dad was a pilot and owned an 806 AOPA when I was growning up, that's my favorite.

Are you insinuating that watches are a good investment? Move on, stay safe and healthy, young Sir! 😜🥂🍾

Never. They're the sort of thing that's nice to see appreciate, but buying them for the sake of them increasing in value is not it for me. It's like the classic car market. There are cars from the mid 2000s now fetching big money, like the Honda S2000, but that's more a surprise to the owner, because nobody would have ever expected an old Honda, even one as special as the S2000, to hold its value so well. On the other end of the spectrum, there are cars from the 50s, running, driving cars, that are worth peanuts compared to what everything else from that decade is going for.

I see watches as silly, shiny toys. Appreciate, depreciate, I couldn't be bothered.

I respect your Dad, cherish his presence, and listen, wise Sir. They are who we are! 🔥

I've always loved the busy dials of Breitlings, can't remember the one I had many years ago, I'll try and dig up a photo.

·

It’s a nice watch that I can’t get into. For me it’s way to busy. I almost get dizzy from looking it. A appreciate the brand and history. I just can’t do it.
