Breitling Navitimer ref. 7806

Recently a friend came by our workshop to find a strap for his newest acquisition, Breitling Navitimer ref. 7806. Navitimer is one of my favorite chronographs and definitely my favorite model from Breitling. I had a chance of seeing and trying out a few of them, but they were newer references. The special thing about this reference is that, for the first time, a date display is integrated at 4:30. I also like that it's sitting straight on the dial, unlike on the later references. It's a small detail but I think it really gives a character to this watch. We paired it with our Two-Stitch Vintage Buffalo Leather Watch Strap to go with the vintage look.

What do you think about this reference and Navitimer in general?

Very nice to look at, have no idea as to how the bezels works.

You are not alone in that 😄 All I know is that it has a wide range of use.

I don't like many Navitimers...too big, too busy, but this one looks great.  I also have strong feelings on the 4:30 date window, namely don't do it.  Like ever.  That said, Breitling gets points for having the numbers oriented vertically.  That somehow makes it look less like a mistake to me.  When the date is oriented radially it looks like they just cut a window in the dial based on a random date wheel somebody found in the bottom of a drawer underneath an old sandwich.  This is probably one of the few watches I would buy that have a 4:30 date.

Yeah, I agree with you, the date window really a character to this watch.

I love the look of this one! looks a whle lot better than the new ones. The only time where i can get behind a 4:30 date window is when its upright like that, so that is a massive plus. Looks great on that strap!👍

My thoughts exactly. Every time I see a 4:30 date window I ask myself “why can’t they just orient the damn numbers vertically…LIKE THE REST OF THE FUCKING INDICES!!!?”

It’s the little things.

i dont like the navitimer when i first into wristwatch. i know its a tool watch, but the indices are too much. but lately the navitimer is grew on me, i guess people taste always change 😍😍

Awesome strap! You can't ignore the Navitimer in regards to history and conversation piece.

·

The strap is an excellent choice, I believe it complements that watch very well.

I personally think the Navitimer is an excellent watch; it’s distinctive and probably the model you would think of when you bring up Breitling. I agree with your description about this particular reference, and I too am a fan of the date and it’s presentation. Sometimes it is the subtle differences that make or break a watch for a person.

My impression of the Navitimer is an iconic piece from Breitling. But it is also a more pricey piece from the brand. Hope to be able to add to my collection some day. If I have the opportunity, I would get the deep blue Chronograph 41mm case with bracelet.❤️

Yeah, we think so too, it really goes well with the vintage vibe 👌
