Anyone have and wear a Ploprof?

Curiosity, do a lot of folks have a Ploprof, it seems hyper niche, but a lot of reviews and things I read about the watch say it is a really comfortable watch to wear, especially the titanium variant.

What are the Cruncher’s opinions? Can you wear this watch (maybe not daily) a good bit or is it genuinely a tool watch for scuba only?

Is it so large or cumbersome on wrist that it doesn’t even make for a good short sleeve outdoor watch or general boating/fishing/beach watch….

It’s unbelievably well made, I tried the steel and rubber variant many moons on for 30seconds and think I rember it as comfortable. It has a wonderful movement and I think it is a looker and just plain fun, especially when one has other watches for other occasions.

I’d hate to have one and never wear it or wear it 2-3 times a year as I couldn’t afford to tie up money like that.

Apologies for the ramble, but this is one I’ve always been curious about and look forward to learning everyone’s opinion on or ownership experience.

That watch was not designed to be seen above the surface.

I'd wear it!

·

I would never buy or wear it. Definitely a dive only watch

·

All I know is that it’s my favourite Omega. It’s so unusual and amazing. 🤩

I had the 8500 caliber steel version for 3 years, with an orange rubber strap. Ref: 224.32.55.21.01.002 (photos by Chrono24). Although it is a watch that I love to look at, it is extremely uncomfortable to wear, especially in heat and sweat (who said summer?). IMHO, it doesn't cut it as a desktop diver and as a diving tool, I prefer a dive computer.

PS: And I say this as a frequent user of 47mm Panerai.

Reminds me of the Giugiaro

This watch was not designed to be seen on a wrist 😅

·

I tried the steel on and laughed when someone says it’s wearable. It’s massive but it’s so damn heavy. I bet the titanium is substantially better weight so it doesn’t feel the size that it is.

·

I guess a major factor would be where you live? I’ve got a larger G-Shock frogman and usually only wear it during the summer as where I live it’s mainly cold and these larger watches are a pain to go under a jacket sleeve

No, I also have a Frogman GWF-D1000 and believe me it doesn't feel on your wrist compared to Ploprof

·

I bought an Ocean7 version of the Ploprof. I’ll buy expensive watches but I couldn’t see myself spending Omega money for a watch I knew wouldn’t wear often. The Ocean7 is titanium and it honestly does wear much better than you would think just from looking at it. I think mine comes in around 90 grams on a rubber strap. Super dope watch.

·

I love it. It's so neat and rugged.

😂😂😂😂😂

I would totally wear it if i could. It could easily stand next to my Grand Seiko Sbgx261 as the best two watch collection in the world (for me)

Florida, hence the short sleeves and being on or around the water all of the time, but man does it get humid!

90grams is very wearable.

That’s kind of saying a lot coming from 47mm. My largest outside of a G Shock has probably been a Breitling ChronAvengwr M1 Superquartz in Titanium. It was comfortable, but the height was sometimes a nuisance.

Sometimes this is how I feel, kind of like and a who cares it’s so 🆒

So when you say “could” is that bc you think your wrist is too small or it wouldn’t be comfortable enough to wear? Only focusing on the physical and aesthetic traits here.

The price. Lol. I'm 500% sure I could rock it with a suit, in the ocean or at the mall

Yep just like when I lived in Hong Kong, G-Shock all year round, but Europe is another beast

·

I’m flipping madly here between ‘I love it’ and ‘but it’s damn ugly’. Not for me, it confuses me too much 😂

It would be like a homing beacon for watch nerds if you wore it to the mall!

·

I know it's a plo-prof but I my brain refuses to read it as anything other than plop-rof.

Love it though, wonder if anyone has ever worn one to a job interview (not at a diving school 😜)

·

It’s my grail! I’d wear it proudly anytime.

·

Always wanted on since trying one on many moons ago. It has one of the, if not the, nicest milaneese bracelets ever. Too many watches, not enough wrists.

Reviewers says a lot of things

This is probably the polarizing place I’m asking from

That Milanese is top notch!
