Horage Omnium Root Beer

This watch is quite astonishing. I became aware of this Horage watch a couple of months ago & was immediately attracted to it. The dial colour was hugely perplexing, I couldn't figure out what was going on with it. It appeared as though the colour was different across 3 bands of the dial. A thin band across the top & bottom & a wider band across the middle. I decided it wasn't for me without being able to see it on the wrist.

I went into the city today with the intention of buying a Seiko Alpinist. The jewellers I went into, unbeknown to me, stocked Horage. The dial looked incredible & its secret was revealed to me, a multi faceted crystal;

This crystal is cut in such a way that depending on the light & angle this watch looks totally different every time. 2 such examples below;

WTF? Unbelieveable difference. Other examples;

A truely unique watch & absolutely like nothing else I have. The watch came with a beads of rice mesh style bracelet that quite frankly I detest & won't wear. I've tried a Nomos bracelet with it & the Tudor Black Bay 58 925 leather strap but I'm undecided as to which I prefer. A watch like this deserves a special strap, any suggestions would be welcomed?

That’s a pretty great looking watch. I don’t really have much for a strap suggestion beyond it doesn’t really matter so pick something comfortable. That dial is clearly the star of the show.

Thank you. Right now, as the darkness is setting in here in Scotland the dial looks black, not a hint of the vibrant root beer colour in the light. The contrast really is quite incredible. The colour won't be to everyone's taste but I really haven't seen anything else quite like it.

I have a Horage (not this one). Great watches at good prices. Even the tourbillion is fairly priced.

That's really cool. I'd love to be able to see one of thise in person. I always appreciate dials that look different depending on how the light strikes them, and this one appears to be outstanding in that regard.

I've been really fortunate to get the chance to own this watch. The watch is limited to 25 pieces & it so happens that a relatively small company in my home town, Glasgow is an Horage AD. This is the only watch they had in stock, perhaps the only one that they received.

Congratulations. That makes it all the more special, for sure. If it's as nice in person as it is in the photos, you've got a winner!
