36mm vs 39mm

Whats the case diameter that you were the most? I love anything between 36 to 40 but also enjoy small dress watches sometimes.

My lowest is 36mm and my highest is around 42mm but it can go a bit higher depending on the case shape like my mm300 which is around 44mm but looks smaller due to the lug size

I feel that a wrist watch should take up less than half the width of the wrist. Wearing 35mm today and it's a bit large. I prefer 33mm.

·

My preference for divers is 37mm to 39mm. 40mm is my max. I prefer dress watches between 36mm to 38mm. And I don’t care much for chronographs, GMTs, etc.

36mm was considered way too large a while back and the standard width of 34mm looked great

Thats the same sizes I always look for ..

38-40 is just right. Although I have some 42's & a couple sub 38's.

36mm is a good sport watch size. Dive watches threw everybody's sense of proportion way off. Now people expect any watch to be as wide as their wrist, which looks silly in most cases.

·

Love 36mm. 35 is my favorite but I need to actually buy one!

·

36mm is the sweet spot for me. I have the 1926 in 36mm and Bambino in 38mm. Both are great 👍

·

My absolute favourite is between 36 and 39 mm with not a long lug to lug on 39 mm

·

38-42

When I was younger I wore a 34 mm TAG Formula 1 for many years. Now, most of my watches are 40-41 with a behemoth 46mm Flieger. I think I’d be fine with 36, I’ve tried a few on and liked it. Though when I tried on a BB58 a few years ago, I thought it too diminutive I got the 41mm GMT. I think a size range of 36-41 would wear great on my wrist.

·

7.4 inch wrist here, so anything smaller than 39mm just looks funny. My sweet spot is 41-42mm but can pull of a 47mm.

·

My most worn watches are 36-37mm. Most of my collection is actually 36-37mm, though I do have a few that are 41-42mm.

·

Depends on my mood and the watch's purpose. I have always liked dressier watches so smaller watches are my preference.

I'm honestly unsure if I would have gotten the 35mm Clé if I knew more about watches at the time of purchase, but the 40mm Clé works fine as a sporty dress watch.

The sports watches I own are 42mm or 45mm, I think they look fine for what they are.

38 and lower, but I rarely go over 36mm

I think small watches look better

Whats your fav now?

35mm Nomos Tangente. That’s for sure my favorite 35mm watch I’ve had the chance to check out!

The Formula 1 is super cool … you have a tudor and a rolex gmt .. how do you compare them? What do you like more over the other?

Well, I’ll say this, even with my Rolex being a 5 digit reference and being near vintage, what Hans Wildorf intended that while a great watch in most respects the Tudor is just a step or two behind. The GMT is the most comfortable watch I own, and it’s been thru the ringer so very durable and reliable. That’s just the GMT. I think the Pelagos does not stand in the shadow of Rolex.

·

I prefer large watches. 51mm +

Although I can wear anything from 35-45 depending on lug-to-lug distance, my sweet spot is 38-40. For my tastes, 36's are a tad small. Above 40 the watch seem to start wearing me and not the other way around. 😁

I think there are some watches like the speedmaster or skx that are also wearable with 42mm .. but besides that under or 40mm is key
