How do you arrange your collection?

I have my collection scattered across 5 (for now 😊) display boxes, and I try to keep some kind of order to them. For me it’s something like:

  1.  My vintage Casio digitals
  2. My other Casio watches (digi and ani)
  3. My mechanicals
  4. My fields
  5. Misc

What’s your system for sorting your watches?

I keep mine in a machinist tool box, separated into 3 piece boxes/rolls. I then divide them into distinct three Watch collections, as if they were the only three watches I own, and I rotate the collections weekly.

1  Divers

2. Chronos

3. Dress/Casual/Unique (Xeric etc..)

4. Family/ Gifted (non negotiable)

5. Field/G Shock/ Digital

My boxes are in 2 rooms. The most worn boxes are in our bedroom (#1 & #3 box) and the rest in another room.

Cheers!

That sounds cool. I’d love to see a picture if possible?

I should separate my gifted watches to be fair - good shout.

I use the random method.

I've gone back and forth, trying a few different arrangements - by watch type and by brand.  But now I'm using more of a color scheme - all the gold watches together, stainless together, two-tone, and then a box of miscellaneous other colors (gray, green, blue, etc).  So far that's been working well for me, not only easily picking something to with what I'm wearing/doing, but also helps me rotate watches more.

Similar, though I only have 3 boxes. One for mens, one for ladies and one for vintage ladies.

·

I group mine by brand.  I will actually move entire sets to make them fit evenly into watch boxes.

Haha I do that too. I hate when it doesn’t work out though…only   answer is to buy more watches! 😂

·

I have one box with room for 10 watches. It is not full jet, but I don't think I need more then 10 watches. So when I got one extra then I'm gonna sell one. One in, one out.

·

I have mine sorted by brand and in 2 boxes sorted by tier: Rolex, Omega, Tudor…etc in one and Seiko, Squale, Alpina…etc in the other.

·

I don't really arrange my watches in any order. I keep most of the automatics on the winders and the quartz in the display cases, but their placement is not ordered by any system.

·

I have two display boxes that hold my cheaper/less worn watches. As for the more expensive/more worn watches, they live in a Vault case on my night stand. I have two Vault cases on my night stand, one for the watches and a second for my pocket knives.
