Smiths Everest Prs-25 is a pretty good homage. 36mm, newer bracelet has no rivets, 100WR, Miyota mvmt but about $400 in Timefactors website or best bet eBay.
commented onHow do you manage a collection with mechanical movements?·
I have mostly mechanical watches except for a small handful of quartz/digital/meca-quartz. For me I love setting the date and time and winding it! Winding a watch gives you that personal connection to it. You become intimate with it. It’s a feeling you don’t get with a quartz you only slap on your wrist and do nothing with/to it. Plus knowing that the movement and watch (some higher ones) were put together by hand by someone. The craftsmanship of that piece. It’s an expression of myself.
Don’t like the crown guards, no micro adjust bracelet, almost $12K? I know it’s a Genta design and integrated bracelet is the “it” thing but $12K for IWC for this reboot is a bit high for my taste.
