🐼 Tudor Panda or Omega Panda? 🐼
Hi All, I would really love to add a sporty white/black watch to my collection and am trying to decide between these two. I would be looking at preowned in which they are pretty much comparable in price. I've tried both on and really like both options, I think would be happy with either. Would love to hear some thoughts from the community.
Reasons I like the Tudor Black Bay:
- I love the look of the Panda Daytona but will probably never own one (or would want to wear one in public) this is a great alternative.
- I don't currently have a chrono, also love that this chrono has a nicely located date function
- I already have a black SMP 300
Reasons I like the Omega SMP:
- I have an affinity towards Omegas
- Dial is more legible / higher contrast
- Movement seems more advanced
- Slimmer profile
- Ceramic Bezel

I would say the SMP because it is more wearable for my wrist, but I see you already have an SMP, so get the one you do not have, Tudor.

The aesthetics are far superior in my opinion. Much more to look at on the dial. Full disclosure I am both a fan of Omega and Tudor and own both.
▪︎ Ceramic bezel.
▪︎ Skeletonized hands (beautiful I might add).
▪︎ Laser etched wave pattern (can't get enough of)
▪︎ Red tipped seconds hands and red Seamaster lettering add some real flare/pop.
▪︎ One of the best date window executions.
▪︎ Scalloped bezel. Very unique in a homogeneous watch world. And it's not as hard to manipulate as folks say it is...like everything in life you will learn quickly how to articulate the bezel. It becomes easy.
▪︎ Lume is fantastic.
▪︎ Open caseback.
▪︎ Innovation is fantastic.
▪︎ Lugs a killer!
▪︎ You can do so much with red/black straps.
Although I wasn’t looking specifically at the Tudor panda a few months ago I was deciding on a Tudor purchase. For six months I read, watched everything I could on Tudor BB watches. I then went to an AD and the Tudor did nothing for me. I picked up the Omega Seamaster Diver 300 white dial on a bracelet and since added rubber and NATO straps. Haven’t looked at another Tudor since. I am aware that Tudor makes great watches but the BB I was looking at had no wrist presence at all. Just one man’s opinion. Have a great day.

I personally prefer the look of the Tudor. But the SMP is an objectively better watch on pretty much every level. If you need to re-sell the SMP, you'll probably lose less money on it, too Depends on whether you can put up with the obtrusive helium escape valve.
Can't "go wrong" with either. I have the Tudor Panda and it is fantastic. I've always loved Omega though I do not have this model of 300M.
I like the style of the tudor way more, but it's too thick... so I lean to the smp
But since you own an smp already I'd get the tudor

Thanks haha. I wasn't a fan of this specific reference with the yellow accents. I actually really like the speedmaster racing panda (ref 329.30.44.51.04.001) but it's almost double the price.

Haha yea I tried to find a reference I liked but they were either too expensive or didn't speak to me.
If you already have a SMP, then go with the Tudor. Currently I'm looking at a Tudor, as I have other Rolex and the exact SMP that you have posted.
