commented on Do sport watches need date window especially diver watches? ·

I like having the date. However, my preference when it comes to the dive watch from Rolex. I prefer the Submariner vs the Submariner Date. It's just the symmetrical look of the Submariner. It gives off that timeless vibe of not having a care in the world.

commented on Homage watches - your thoughts ·

Let's face it, will you wear the homage watch? That's the deal breaker for me, because why would I buy it if I don't wear it, for whatever reason? There's nothing wrong as people don't really care. And if they do care and say it's a fake, then their just snobs. Just look on their wrist as to what they have. If it's something that would have an homage counterpart, then they are just pissed because of the price they paid to flex. Because that's why they purchased the watch for, to flex. I get it that's what's mainly driving the whole industry. Still, you shouldn't be a snob. Imitation is the greatest form of flattery.

commented on When you go to an AD to buy a nice watch, which watch would you put on your wrist? ·

Most AD's aren't going to care. They just care about the watch you purchase. Cheap watch, expensive AD, if you're serious, they will complement you on your taste and upgrade.

If you already have a SMP, then go with the Tudor. Currently I'm looking at a Tudor, as I have other Rolex and the exact SMP that you have posted.

commented on What's your expectation of your children's reaction to your watch collection? ·

Your collection is your collection and reflects your taste. Your children will have a different take on your collection. But almost always they will at least keep one for sentimental value, if they are not into watches.

commented on Do you use your Chronograph? ·

Just because I don't use the functions daily doesn't mean that I don't like looking at the watch with multiple dials. People have smart watches now, I would bet that they don't use all the apps and functions of those on a daily basis.

commented on If Rolex made a no-date Submariner with a QUARTZ movement for around half the price, would you buy it? ·

Quartz? Nope, I don't mind quartz movements. However, switching to quartz or having a quartz alternative to the iconic automatic watches, takes away some of the sparkle of the watch itself. Rolex in the past offered an Oyster Quartz. Didn't really take off. Look currently a new Submariner is in the $10k range. If a quartz version came out for $5k, people would look and say why is this version so much money when good quartz movements are only in the hundreds of dollars if not cheaper. For that money, just go get a Tudor, that's what they were established to do by the maker of Rolex, be a more affordable version with the same quality.
