GSxSeiko Hybrid $120 build

This is another build I did!

parts sourced from AliExpress too (surprisingly with the seiko logo and proper grand seiko zaratsu finished hands??)

I wanted a watch that wasn’t too flashy (no GS logo even though it was an option from the shop to buy a dial with the GS Logo) yet had the subtleties that GS is loved for.

My latest project is a combination of a white seiko textured dial, GS zaratsu finished hour and minute hands and for a pop of colour, a painted blue presage second hand for some contrast!

Got a simple 316L stainless steel oyster styled case (with a screw down crown, bonus WEW) and encased a NH35A movement inside!

I learnt from the mistakes from my previous build! I was super careful to use gloves to prevent leaving fingerprints on the hands/dial! I got special instruments to pick up each of the parts to prevent scratches.

This was great fun and I’m so satisfied with my finished product! I hope you enjoy it just as much as I do! :)

Thank you! It’s great to be able to share these builds with people who appreciate them 😊

I suspect it might be some factory rejects or some production excess that might be sold by third party sellers. No way to verify but it’s just my suspicion haha 😬

This is good! For that price you won't ever be able to find something with such a nice dial. Well done!

I'm pretty sure you will find textured dials and the dauphine-style hands at better modding stores. I can't say where yours are from, but they are definitely available aftermarket.

P.S.: Congratulations on the build.

Thanks man! I’d love to learn more about these modding stores! Currently I source my stuff off AliExpress (sometimes Lazada/Shopee which are online platforms pretty established in my part of the world) cos there are the only sources I’m aware of. I’d love to know more about any great mod stores that sell beautiful dials/hand sets :)

I'm sure others can add to this, but I have to think of Namoki: https://www.namokimods.com/ or Lucius Atelier: https://luciusatelier.com/ . Seikomods.com has an online configurator: https://www.seikomods.com/configurator/

I personally had some good experiences with dials from TokeiLab: https://tokeilab.com/
