After 15 years of searching, bought my first traveller GMT

I've been wanting a traveller GMT ever since the mid 2000s, when I couldn't decide between a Seamaster "Great White" and a black dial Explorer II, but couldn't get either after having kids, getting laid off, housing crisis, recession, etc.

Some 15+ years later, I hear about the Miyota 9075 and all the many options available. So I do a bit of googling and find a number of options, but as soon as I saw the Vaer G5, I was smitten. It took me a while to decide to order it, but ever since it showed up on my doorstep two days ago, I've had no regrets. Once it got here, I immediately sized the bracelet and put it on and it hasn't left my side since.

(New to WC, so I just found out about NWA. Otherwise, I would have done proper unboxing photos and posted the day of.)

Welcome to the Crunch! Excellent choice and glad you're happy with it. I have a low-end Vaer that I adore. Simple and inexpensive but nearly indestructible and I love it.

That looks like a great watch, I have a first gen Vaer D5 Atlantic and love the build quality. I've heard they have gotten even better over time.

Great looking GMT !

Congrats on the piece!

Welcome to Watch Crunch! I love Vaer as a brand, and I love my C3. It’s a great little watch. Glad you finally found “the one,” way to be patient and get something you love!

I feel like Vaer doesn’t get a lot of love because they’re designs are pretty conservative. Maybe that’s not why, but whatever the case, I think they deserve more love. They make solid, dependable tool watches at reasonable prices.

Very nice. The “Batman” looks almost exactly like the Seiko 5 GMT but with the huge difference of being a traveler GMT.

·

Congratulations. And a good choice, I bloody love a GMT!

Great choice. I just picked up the D5 Meridian 39mm
