ETA Valjoux 7751 mod build

I’m doing a test run today of a build I assembled last night before I do a final trim of the crown stem. It’s based on an ETA Valjoux 7751.  The parts were sourced from various vendors.  The hands were used, and came from some unknown 7751 watch.  The dial came from a German parts supplier of unknown origin.  The case is stainless steel and comes from a Swiss parts supplier. Leather strap from WindUp (Chicago), i.e. the guys that do the watch meetups around the country.

Before assembly, I was concerned about the case being much larger than the dial.  At the moment, I’m leaning towards embracing that visual aspect as something distinctly different from typical.   Fortunately the holder is polished stainless steel 😉

The case diameter is 44mm, or 54mm lug to lug.

Ah good. Yeah I hope WC can serve as a forum for sharing ideas and resources for mod builds.

This is not my style of watch at all, but I still think it's beautiful. What you have assembled here looks to me like something that could be from some obscure high-end Swiss or German brand.

Amazing work! The 7751 is a great movement to end up with a beautiful piece.

Great post. I have been researching watches with the 7751 movement and the possibility of building one. Found a nice 42mm case, but need to find a nice dial.
