Phone upgrade required?

I know I’ve only joined watch crunch yesterday but I can’t be alone in thinking I need a better camera for shooting wrist shots, feel like my iPhone 13 mini isn’t doing this forum justice. I’ve been an iPhone user for decades and my wife gives me regular abuse for being a simpleton (she’s Samsung) so question is:

I had the iPhone X for a long time taking pictures and only upgraded to the 15pro max because I wanted to start shooting content and my memory was full on the X. Yes I also was happy that my camera was being improved at the same time but I don’t no if I would have done it just for the photos but it boils down to weather or not improving the camera is going to make you that much more happy and excited to take pictures but don’t do it just for us. I looked at your WRUW and you photos a great as it is.

Hope this helps you some. 🍻

I still have an old iPhone 11, I found some cool apps to filter picture that help a lot but I looking to get a macro lens for iPhone

That’s actually really useful advice … I did take another look at other posts and thought my pics aren’t so bad in fact!

I'm definitely a Samsung fan, but I suggest that perhaps watching some videos on photography might help more than a new phone.

The camera on an iPhone 13 mini should be more than enough for getting good shots, if you get the light and framing correct.

I have the Samsung Z Flip 5, the camera isn't too bad. I've been Android forever, but Pixel phones up til now. Their cameras are decent.

Samsungs take great pictures. My wife is the iPhone fan but she always wants my phone for pictures. Samsung S22 Ultra versus iPhone 13. She's wanting to upgrade now to 15 😆

Ive used my 12 pro max for so many photos already and I think it’s quite okay for a cameraphone. I also have a 15 Pro which has the same camera and processing as the 15promax and I prefer the photo processing of the 12 over the 15.

Interesting, just had same discussion with my wife who is still working, her phone was upgraded to the 15 Plus by her office, my daughters and son in law also feels that I need to upgrade. I rather save my spare dollars for my watch purchases. I rarely post after joining last summer.

🤣 Look at my blurry WRUW shots, I've got a shite phone as my money goes on watches instead 😁👍🏻

I’ve just seen some of your pics and we have a similar taste in watches and straps it seems, I’ll be posting more in the coming days 😊

I own the iPhone 15 pro as a long term Android user and switched back to Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.

iOS is such a rubbish OS compared to Android. You literally have to swipe or click twice as much compared to Android. The camera from the Samsung is also better than the iPhone 15 pro. There are even better Android cameras that wipe the floor with the iPhone like the Vivo X100 Pro

I use an iPhone 15 pro and the camera is amazing! Highly recommend it for the camera alone 👍🏻👍🏻

Great poll for a watch community forum 😂 Well played 🤙🏽

The 15 camera is better, the latest software is better but honestly, you can take great photos with any phone released in the last 10 years.

Used to work with a neurosurgeon who insisted on owning the highest end Nikon equipment. Spent tens of thousands on pro lenses and camera bodies.

His photos still sucked. The problem was not the equipment.

In computer work, the problem is referred to as "PEBKAC." Problem Exists Between Keyboard and Chair.

Maybe it isn't the camera?

Screw Apple!! I absolutely hate Apple's proprietary marketing strategy and have sworn off personally owning any of their products for over a decade now which is just as well, as the new Android phones seem to take better pictures and videos without having to be upgraded every 3-5 years, which is what Apple forces you to do with their software upgrades.

I don’t mean to oppose your idea but Apple isn’t that bad 🤔if anything Apple supports older devices for a good bit of time. I think up to 6 generations old is how long they support. And again, minor upgrades every year aren’t for people who own a device 1 or 2 generations old, they are for people with devices more than 4 years + old. Again, maybe it’s just how my family and friends have experienced Apple products, but that’s how I view Apple. I’m not saying your wrong, I respect your opinion 👍🏻👍🏻
