Rebooting my collection with a theme!

I’ve mulled over rekindling my watch collection for a couple of years now. And after hours on YouTube and joining this forum, I’ve decided to restart with this beauty!
It’s the Seiko SPB207, one of the three Iriomoto fauna inspired dark green divers that Seiko released on their 140th anniversary in 2021.
I was lucky enough to find one locally though not from an AD and got a discount off launch price too.
So, this would be the beachhead piece for my new green themed Seiko collection.

Nice piece for starters! are you going to collect all three Iriomote fauna pieces? That would be cool to have!! I too have the SPB207 when they first released it and loving it ever since! Cool theme for a collection!

Actually I am thinking of the Seiko Prospex LX SNR045. It’s dark green too and the Spring Drive in the LX series makes it distinct from this piece.

·

Nice!! What about the GS SBGJ241?

Ohh the Seiko Hulk…that would be nice …weirdly I’m debating if I would go Seiko Spring Drive or just go with Grand Seiko for the price range … I do love LX line though…

Oh wow how did I miss this post!!

Seiko and Green. First thing that popped into my head is the SARB017. Is that on the list or is the plan to be more diver focused?

I’m definitely two-thumbs up on self-referential, but with a twist, that it should tell a coherent story (and morals) to my kids and their kids. I like the idea that my grandchild who gets this piece get to know that I liked green things that are well-built and built-to-last.

So, the SNR045 is called the Hulk! I learnt something today, thanks.

Yes, I certainly have that. It’s just not getting a lot of wrist time right now because it’s too small and I still haven’t found the perfect bracelet for it.

It has doubled in value so I think it’s definitely a keeper.

Well my AD and I called it a Hulk also that’s his personal favorite in that line… 😉 he can’t stop yapping about it…

The "self-referential" part was really a little joke because I was going to link to my own post. Comments are usually about ourselves, I suppose.

All the watches in my collection are "new" this year. Just turned out that way. Now I'm considering breaking my 3-4 watches max and settling for a 3 japanese and 3 swiss watches collection 🤔

It was a good video until he went off of the Bullfighting tangent.  Then it just turned to bullshit.

If it's Seiko and green you after, then I highly recommend this bad boy the Seiko Sumo, although you probably need the wrists for it to wear at it's best.

That green Seiko is very kewl..   I have this one... which is 2mm bigger.. I honestly might have rather had that 42mm one.. but luckily my wrists are fairly large sooo I can wear a 44mm watch fine..   I really dig green watches oh and I also have this green Bulova Devil diver reissue as well.
