Yeah I'm having it replaced at my trusted watch tech. Upon researching last night, I found that the movement originally uses a discontinued battery and that modern batteries do not really last long in this, which matches my anecdotal experience.
I'm of the same view also. I noticed that I gravitate towards certain watches when I had a large collection so I decided to downsize. And then add a couple more again afterwards to enjoy experiencing them, then the cycle repeats. But a small collection that I enjoy is better than a large collection that doesn't get wrist time.
I hate lighting setups in watch shops, especially high end ones. They're generally warm in color and either too bright or dim that it's difficult to appreciate how a watch really is in person.
I started the hobby with this Orient Flight, inspired by John Mayer's Talking Watches episode and his Big Pilot. Got this as well to celebrate my first ever work promotion back in 2015.
