Need your help with watch size 🙏🏼
Hi everyone, my husband’s 30th birthday is coming up and I would like to get him a vintage Cartier Santos.
I found this one, seller says it’s 29x41 but I know that Santos’ sizing is a bit weird.
Do you happen to have a Santos with the same size and can help me decide by commenting with a wrist shot? Do you think the sizing is ok?
All feedback is welcome of course even if you don’t own one.
For reference, my husband does not mind smaller watches, we have a shared collection a few smaller watches that he enjoys wearing in the pictures
Ulysse Nardin Tank 23x25mm without crown / 26mm incl. crown / 32mm lug-to-lug
Omega Geneve 30mm I think

Can’t go wrong with a Santos. It’s a smaller watch to begin with. The Omega is an excellent choice as well, but the Santos is legendary. Get the Santos. It’s a grail watch for most people.

Thanks for replying! Oh, sorry for the confusion, definitely getting the Santos, the other watches we already own, the pictures are just for comparison to show other smaller watches we own, my worry is the size of the Santos, is 29x41 ok you think?
It is a smaller watch for a man but since you mentioned the other pieces and that your husband like smaller watches, it should be fine.
It would help if you know your his wrist size 👍🏻
That sounds like the mid size Santos which I used to own. I have an 18cm wrist & never ever felt the watch looked small. It's only in recent times when watch sizes have increased across many brands that you tend to think of the Santos as being a small watch.
The stainless steel Santos isn't about size anyway. It's a classic design, that will always be classy & beautiful. I'm sure your husband would be delighted with it unless you're married to The Hulk, whereby it would look a bit dainty on him 😀
This is 29 on 7 inch wrist
I own the Santos L which is the model in the image, medium Santos does not have a date at 6:00 as far as I recall. My wrist is just a hair thicker than 8inches watch does not appear small or large, presently I have it on the leather strap which comes with the watch in addition to the famous bracelet.
My apologies, I thought it was the newest model. I have no experience with the older generation.
I need a wife that wants to buy me a Santos for my birthday! I would ask if you have sister's but they would all be too young if you did. Is your mom single?
