Hello Everyone! Newbie here! Sharing my watch collection!

Hi fellow watch lovers! Glad to be on this new platform! I had only recently started my job, so my collection is mainly consisting of affordable watches. Have fun reading!

My first and only Automatic Watch - Tevise 801A

Image

Backstory: I wanted to dabble in the world of mechanical watches without spending a fortune, hence ended up buying a cheap watch with good reviews on AliExpress, and guess what, even after 5 years it still runs well! Not bad for a submariner homage!

Usage: Office Wear, Ethnic
Movement: Automatic
Price: $20 / ₹1500

Crowd favorite - Casio F91W

Image

Backstory: After getting pulled into this world of watches, every other YouTube video used to claim this is THE watch to have in your collection, so then, went ahead an ordered one. The raisin strap broke, but damn, it looks quite retro on this bond nato, right?

Usage: Casual
Movement: Digital
Price: $18 / ₹1000

My Tank - Timex Expedition Scout

Image

Backstory: Because of lack of good (or rather any) field watches in my country, I felt lucky I came across this. It's very well built and has been my faithful companion on many adventures (It survived going up to 17,000 ft!). The indiglo is VERY handy during night times. I keep switching it between a black nato, a green nato and a dark brown leather strap.

Usage: Outdoor activities, Casual
Movement: Quartz
Price: $40 / ₹3500

The unplanned child - Timex Weekender

Image

Backstory: I wanted a Timex weekender really bad, primarily for using nato straps. But alas, none was available in my country. I searched everywhere, online retailers, physical stores but to no avail. One day the black dial variant suddenly became available on an online site, and I pulled the trigger. My heart really wanted the one with white dial but I had to settle. It is slowly starting to grow on me though and looks pretty neat on a black silicone strap!

Usage: Casual
Movement: Quartz
Price: $25 / ₹1600

Heritage (Part 1 of 2) - HMT Kohinoor

Image

Backstory: I was looking for a blue sunburst dial metal watch, and I had shortlisted Orient Bambino Blue and Tissot PRX. Heck, I had even scheduled an appointment for Bambino and was going to buy it right after. Then suddenly I came across a few videos about these vintage Indian hand wound mechanical watches by HMT. They had stopped making watches quite some time ago and when I had checked their website a couple of years back nothing was in stock. But recently they had started selling a few models online again! I instantly checked for one of their best selling series, the Kohinoor and ordered this jewel!

Usage: Office wear, Ethnic
Movement: Hand Wound Mechanical
Price: $40 / ₹3000

Heritage (Part 2 of 2) - HMT Janata

Image

Backstory: Well, now that HMT watches were available, I HAD TO GET THE MOST ICONIC HMT WATCH! The HMT Janata! What appealed to me other than the fact that this was the first Mechanical watch of India was that the dial marking were in Devanagari (Sanskrit Letters). It seemed so minimal yet culturally rich. I might replace the minute and hour hands with slim stainless steel ones like the initial edition had.

Usage: Office wear, Formal, Black Tie
Movement: Hand Wound Mechanical
Price: $40 / ₹3000

Wishlist: 'CasiOAK' Grey, Sugess Chrono Panda Dial, Jughans Max Bill, Seiko 5 Sport (to eventually replace the Tevise)

Wow! Thank you for reading <3

I think you need a Pilot's watch. I like that you are very calculated with your collection and have a backstory for every watch. Is never so much about the watch value is more about the watch journey.

Thank you! :) Yes I adore breitling watches and will definitely consider adding one from their pilot series at some point in future!

great! you can probably think of adding a proper diver as well!

·

Really like your collection, you cover a lot of bases :) My favs are the HMTs. I have a similar Janata, it runs something like -5 minutes a day though.

I had no idea that there is a black dial weekender - nice one!

Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 35 mm f/1.8G Prime Lens!

Good choice! I find with 35mm you still have a close enough perspective so it doesn't look like the standard product shot - but you still get that sweet bokeh for the background 😎
